a weird question
I finished fallout 2 quite a few times and never uncovered the big mistery: can you find Suliks sister?
he claims to have come from the big sea to the place of biting lizzards, and that it's a month of walking away from klamath. did anyone find it?

here's another question, though:
did anyone manage to save the deathclaws in vault 13?
They cannot be saved either.

ehm, I have a question, too. I don't know if it's a bug, but sometimes when I fight the Masticator in New Reno he bites my ear off, although I win. I have the ear in my inventory and the info says that the ear may be used somewhere later...does anybody know for what it can be used?

It lowers my Charisma? I wasn't aware of that...
But how can I avoid being bitten!? It seems to be a bug. And if not - during the fight you don't see when he tries to bite you. It just happenes...

I think it only happens if you stay in "in-fight" with Mike.
I usually did the "hit-n-run" way of fighting on him.
Hit once (usually aimed for the eyes or something) then run away, making him expend most of his actions point trying to catch me.
I can't recall ever playing onwards with the bitten off ear, but maybe the some of the doctors in the game can help, like with the extra toe being "cured" in Vault City (think it was Vault City... danged need to play this game through once more soon - can't remember much anymore).

There are a number of such encounters in the game.
Thoese are parts of the "Special Encouters" - some fun elements put into the game.
As for the whale thingy, I seem to remember it being a "hitchhikers guide to the galaxy" link/easter-egg.
You can even get Dogmeat from Fallout 1 to join you if you can find him and make him like you.
They aren't quests per se because you roam the wasteland and if you are lucky (in game also

Fighting Mike spoilers
Try taking the ear to one of the doctors who have AutoDoc's. There's one in San Fran and one in the Vault City courtyard. They may be able to reattach it for you. These are the same guys that can remove your 6th toe for you.
Mike never seems to last long in the ring. Hope you paid a visit to his training ring under the Bishop club and got his "special" boxing gloves out of the locker. Also note the drugs he has. If you paid a visit to the fourth level of Sierra and did a thorough search of the computers, lockers, etc. you may have run into a medical finding - if you take both buffout and psycho at the same time you become a nearly invulverable killing machine. Now add the special gloves (they have metal plates in them) to the mix and you can deal out some awesome damage to Mike. If you are any good at unarmed combat and can do called shots you can make quick work of him with a couple called shots to the head or eyes. Or cripple his limbs. If your unarmed fighting skills are weak there are a couple of ways to get them up. Check out the punching bags on level 1 of Sierra. The "good" Chinese leader of the fighters in San Fran may have some pointers for you as well. In the city to the east of your village there was a guy in the bar who could train you up in unarmed fighting as well.

So there's nothing special I can get for the ear? Alright...then I'll try the robodoc...
I had about 60% Unarmored Combat, though I play the game on the highest difficulty. Nevertheless I wanted a more or less fair fight, so I only used the manipulated gloves, no drugs. This should be a clean fight
. And I didn't run away because this way the fight was a bit more interesting. He crippled both of my limbs and I crippled both of his. We fought untill Round 3. Then I knocked him out....
@Surtur
They never caught me...lucky me, huh
. Hum...in fact I *AM* a lucky guy with 7 Luck. I wanted to play it differently this time...a more sneaky character with low perception, endurence and strength, but high intelligence, agility, charisma and luck. And a more or less bad guy...

Re: Re: Fighting Mike spoilers
No one plays fair in New Reno, Modoc or anyother town. Have you fought the evil Chinese kung fu master in San Fran yet? He pulls a gun on you if he's loosing. How many extra points do you get for "playing fair"?
Mike's fighting you while hyped up on drugs and you're fighting clean, that's your definition of fair? I have different term for it.

Re: Re: Re: Fighting Mike spoilers
hehe, yea, that's why I said 'more or less'. At least I am fighting fair. But hey, I played that way because it's more fun. A 5 seconds long fight because I'm pumped with diverse chemicals isn't my definition of 'fun'....
And I can't recall the bad guy taking out his gun in San Fran. I fought him quite often though... ( no offence - maybe I just forgot or it simply doesn't happen in another version of the game)
And in general I think that fair-play is depending on the type of character you play - and are. Still I didn't use any drugs while fighting in New Reno or San Fran while being a bad guy...maybe that's related to my martial arts-influenced nature. I lost about 3 times in New Reno - and it would be no problem changing the difficulty or taking drugs. Instead I tried again - and I won. So where's the problem?
PEACE
