Broken propehcy? How?

Post by Anonononomous »

So, I already became the Nerevarine and killed Dagoth Ur. Then I was exploring near the E-something Ashlandr camp and I found Malen Ancestral Tomb. Inside there was Crazy Something. He attacked me, so, naturally, I crushed his skull in with Sunder. Then the window pops up telling me that "with this character's death, the thread of prophecy is broken etc...."

Ummm, how? I already fulfilled the prophecy, at least, the one I know of, and I was never sent to that dude.

What's up?

You might be talking about a vampire you have to kill to become the Neverarine, but you would not have been sent to him if you were either high enough in level, or waited around for too long after the Urshkala Wise Woman sent you off to do the 4th and 5th trials. If you leave it too long she tells you to go straight to the Archcannon in Vivec, did you complete the main quest this way?

hes talking about crazy batou, and yes when you kill him it will say that message, but you can safely ignore it. The developers orginally wanted to make him part of the main quest, but decided not to, but they forgot to take that message off of him. so... KILL AWAY

Be nice. Knowing a good deal about game content doesn't make you a dork. I've seen lawyers and physicians act like dorks, and believe me, it makes you feel good when that happens. ;)

There was actually a lot of discussion after the game appeared (just as with BG2) about the odd loose ends in the plot. There are even mods out there that try to tie 'em all up. Somewhere along the line all developmment ceases, and work-in-progress has to be tidied up. In many RPGs, that leaves some residue, behind which is never removed. There's a mod out there in BG2, for example, that actually restores and completes a range of quests which were "cleaned" before the game appeared, but left sufficient coding beneath the surface for gaming programmers to work on.

Woops and I talk on MSN frequently, I guess you could say we're friends, there was no malicious intent there, just having a little joke since its normally me answering his questions like that.
