Valygar
You already have five members, two of which are multiclass... that means your party won't lvl very fast. You could leave your party the way it is. Your party is pretty powerful already. One less partymember will make the rest lvl up a bit quicker and you'll have access to higher lvl spells a bit sooner.

@ Coot: You do have a good point. The quicker levelling would be immensely usefull, especially as, in my last game, I got completely smashed by Bodhi's brethren once I'd allied myself with the Shadow Thieves... However, a party with less than the maximum number of party members just isn't my thing. At the moment, I'm thinking it will either be Haer'Dalis or Jan. Jan would be an extremely powerfull addition as an extra mage, and his interaction with Minsc, well, you probably know what I'm talking about. What speaks the most in Haer'Dalis' favor would simply be the fact that there's no one like him, or in other words, that he's a thiefling. As for the rest, I'm pretty indifferent to him.
Believe you can, believe you can't;
either way, you're right.

I agree. Once you enhance Mazzy's strength (which can even be done with her innate ability to cast the Strength spell), she is a...well, she's a single-class Fighter with decent strength. I can't say enough good things about single-class Fighters with decent strength. If you can't bash some heads with one of those (Mazzy, for instance), then BG2 probably isn't the right game for you.Originally posted by Thrain
i personally would take Mazzy over Valygar. the strength thing won't be an issue once you've got those wonderful ogre gloves from the sphere.
Well, Haer'Dalis is far from useless. I know people complain about him being weak but he's not. I use his magical abilities to enhance his defences (stoneskin, blur). He's a Blade and his spin abilities are just fine. And he comes with two powerful short swords as well. Sure, he's not all powerful, but who wants Kal-El in his party?
I also agree strongly with Von Dondu. It took me three games, then I finally decided to give Mazzy a try. She was my only fighter but she did very very well. I'm a real fan of this short paladin wannabe.

I would drop Joshimo and take Jan, so you will have a 5 member party till you save Imoen (thus helping the levelling up of the multiclasses), and you'll end up with two mage over your PC.
And definetly Viconia is not a fighter!!!

Well, roleplaying-wise, that makes next to no sense.
depends on how you view it. remember, Yoshimo is meant to be betraying you and keeping an eye on you for Irenicus (pointing you in the right direction and such).
For example:
Thrain: ok kiddies, time to go. aran has the ship waiting
Aerie: yay! a boat!
our interpid adventurers arrive at the docks to see aran linvail talking with a old aquaintance
Thrain: Yoshimo??
Yoshimo: ah my friends. i heard from my contqacts in the shadow theives you were leaving our fair shores. surely not?
Thrain: yeah, we're going to save the little redheaded one
Yoshimo: then perhaps you are in need of my assitance. i'm sure all manner of foreign moutraps await our toes over the water.
Thrain: why the heck not, i could do with someone to tease the mighty sir Ano now gnome-boy bit the dust.
etc. etc. etc.

It's a stretch
Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak
