Idolons--small Stone Heads??

Have collected three of these heads, so far. Value with the merchant is 0. Do they have any use in the game other than freeloaders??
Secondly, have also collected two handfuls of polished gems, which the game says are worth $400. but only $200. to the merchant Again, are they of any use other than to sell??
Thirdly, my earlier post should have been titled "INVISABLE STAIRS" not "IN VISABLE STAIRS" as shown! Maybe this is why I got no responses?? (Typed with tongue in cheek!)

Whatever you do, don't drop a head somewhere, or fail to pick one up. I had the same problem as you, I have often carried odd cruddy objects around for an entire game and then found there was no use to them, so although I picked up most of the heads, I did leave one behind, and now I can't remember where it was.

Eventually you will find a large stone head outside, and if you put a small stone head in it, it will give you a magic ring. For every head you put in, another ring. Some were kind of naff, as they took down resistance or lowered a stat while only giving you a small bonus in another area, but there were a couple of really nice rings. I am hoping if I can find the last stone head I will get a super dooper ring.

you might evan want to save prior to using the idolons, so you can reload if you don't like the rings given, as it is done randomly
