LOL...well, have you ever read the Vampire Chronicles, or any Anne Rice, you probably have a feel for what to write. On the surface, this is just an avarage family within the old New Orleans planter aristocracy, but there are secrets...spooky ones if you get my drift. Not just vampires, but weirkin, witches, stalkers...just about anything goes as long as it's plausable that it could really be a family that would pass for normal, well, almost normal on the street, but has these little skeletons that just won't stay in the closet
Bridges du Reves is a tall handsome, intelligent, but dark and brooding man who is the last 'known' decendant of a line of extraordinary people...Weirwolves to be exact.
Dolores Peltier is a long lost cousin he knew nothing about, but is a VooDoo priestess of imense power.
Something is going on....but it's up to the writers to develope what that is going to be.
There will be a need of as many players a wish to play. But if you don't play play well with others, don't be surprised if your character gets to play the part of a midnight snack to one of the inhabitants of Manor du Reves

The story is only very loosely based on the Vampire Chronicals. Basically, you may invent any character you want and develope it within the story. You are only limited by what has transpired already in the story. There is no agenda you have to worry about and in fact, you do not have to be experienced in the Vampire Chronicals at all to play...just develope your character within the framework of the story and write well with the other players. Interaction is always a big factor in doing one of these progects.
To answer your question more directly, you develope your character and work him or her in, and yes, we do add to the story as we go along, but not in the strict sense that you can't reflect on what your character is doing at the same time others are interacting in a different way.
LOL..I always tend to use the DFs as an example because they do this so well, but if you are familiar with their stories, then you have a good idea of what I am talking about

Aegis ! For one who does not write reality too well, yor first post is outstanding ..I think you may have found your niche !Originally posted by Aegis
How fantasical a story we talking about here? Is there going to be a big occult influence, or more of a realistic feel to it? (I don't write reality well ) ...

@Aegis.. good point, I had wondered that myself. I'm bilingual, so I don't have any trouble reading the French others write, but if anyone out there is less familiar with the language I'm happy to translate here in the discussion thread, just ask
I have another question, what time frame are we looking at? I am guessing around the 1750s, or is that too far back? It's just that I might do a bit of research on the era

Well, from my lowly perspective anyway, I'm not sure it needs to be entirely believable I normally hate to bandy about jargon and lit crit terminology so my apologies in advance, but going by what has been written so far I'm sensing that we seem to be somewhere in the realm of "magical realism"Originally posted by Aegis
Good call. I was wondering that as well. Would help create a more believable story.
