a party give you this ring, during a random encounter if you Free an elf woman....

What does this ring do????

P.S. i'm sorry but today mine is a very bad englsh....

This is a question that many players of this game have. Unfortunately, there is no specification to its use. That may come with some time, since there is a third patch in the works that is supposedly to add new content to the game.

Since u seams to know many things about the game i'd like to ask u another 1

I'm italian and i tried to use the patch Ver 1 (or similar) on my game.

as result it sais "Works only with English version"

Do you know any patch that work in other languages versions?

Let's see...

Unfortunately, I could not find any links to a patch that works with versions with different languages. I'm just hoping this isn't a lost cause.

If I find any more information, I'll post it.

For one thing my honey and I have played this game and not once did we recieve a reward for anything.

We both rescued the Elves and never got squat from it. Or even with Prince T. or even the crazy man in the Earth Node to give us the gold he said he would.

I do not known if these are bugs (more then likely since Phiff this game is filled with them) or it was just steam blowing out there arse. All I know is if I ever choose to play this game again, I am just gonna play a c.e. party and kill'em all.

The new patch does make Sargen's messenger actually have a conversation with you now.

The reward encounters with the Elven Maiden and Knight are timed encounters triggered by the rescues... they will only happen when traveling the countryside and I've forgoten the exact amount of game time but it is quite a few days if not a week or so.

The Elven Maiden encounter - gave Elven chainmail and a few other Eleven items along with the unicorn ring.

the unicorn ring - though broken in the original game (did not have the magical trigger on ) but had the following properties, Keoghtom's ointment, Dominate Person and Dominate Animal, when you apply the 1st patch it removed these properties, but turned the magical trigger on- rather ironic... still quite useless.

btw... I suggest with everything you try on your characters, examine not only thier basic Stats but thier skills and feats as well.

The Knight encouter - gives to each party member 2000 platinum, a ring of protection, a healing potion and scather to whichever member they speak to. Also if the party is good will knight the party and give badges to signify such... which registers in your reputation and affects how villagers talk to you. If you have the prince's amulet you have a choice of other items. ie. scrolls of all the 1st level spells....

The wizards courier was broken (he would not hold a dialog) until this last patch.

A lot of people have complained about both rewards. I got the Elven one while I was traveling back to homlett to sell off some loot I had gotten on the fourth level of the temple.

I forget when I actually got Thrommel's reward, but one tip I read went something like, Go to homlett and rest for 15 days. Then travel to nulb, if you don't get thrommel's reward rest in nulb for 15 days and head back to hommlett. Rinse and repeat as necesary until you get it.

Translation -
The ring's powers were deactivated by the first patch. However, the triggers for the magic were still active.

The effects that the ring had were:
- Dominate Animal (Level 3 Druid Spell.)

- Dominate Person (Can't seem to find any mention of this spell in the manual; sorry.)

I'v got the 2nd pathc and tis damed ring doesn't work.

However, the triggers for the magic were still active.

meaning it can be used? how?
