ToB spoiler (small) needed--Cave of Death

Hi all. This is really driving me crazy.

I'm in Amthratka in the Cave of Death. I decided not to kill the Lich and I have been exploring the room. There is one door on the platforms that I can't open. It requires a key.

Where do I get that key? I've looked everywhere, and I'm sure I'm missing something stupid.

Any ideas?

Without spoiling it, you get the chance to explore that area later on.

ahhhh, but TOB has chosen this moment to act up on me.... I may never see this woundrous key or doorway again.

There is no physical key to that door. In one of the more surprising moments I found that if you get through (as I did) you will bypass Bhaalspawns 2 and 3 and go directly to Balthazar who will talk to you as if you had killed them. Then when you kill him (not very hard) the deva will show up and open doorway #5. Quite the little shortcut.
