I think the best combo, actually, is Celestial Fury and Flail of Ages.
I know nothing compares to CF, but you can get both of these weapons in Chapter 2.
Chances are, you will stun/slow any opponent to a crawl, the elemental damage can disrupt enemy mages, and, I can't think of anything that is vulnerable to +3 weapons (and Flail of Ages gets upgraded later) that you can't hit with one of those.

Also, how do you get to AC -30 with a blade? I played a blade character and he really kicked butt, but I never got into all of the little tricks like that....

u can with the blade, defense spin is -10 i belive, then ring of gaax is -2 to ac then you got ring of protection which is -2 or if u got TOB ring of protection +3 which is -3 or alterativly u can get ring of earth control which has -1 and an cloak which is -1 but upgrade in tob to -2 then on top of that you got your dex bonus i'll say 18 or 19 is about -3 or something not sure got to look it up on the tablet, anyway blade also got stone skin and he's already hard to hit then on top of that stone skin
bah bah, sig? Me? naaa.

Due to my divine heritage I never got hang overs. BUt I was drinking with korgan, my mistake, and matching him drink for drink. see, that little dwarf has the biggest capacity I have ever met, including some dragons. So the next morning I woke up with really bad hang over. And I was woken up with some stupid git singing "morning is here" badly and off tune. naturally I tossed a lightning bolt at him, but aim was off, and blew up th inn instead. It was haer dalis!!! so korgy and I had a lot of fun slicing him up slowly.

anyway, kill haer dalis, you cannot pick pocket him, and now you know why haer dalis must die, die, die!!! and dual wield chaos and kundane. with greater whirlwind for thief fighter, use keikos wakishashi, for jan use chaos and kundane with improved haste and mislead for muliple backstabs. the trick is to drain targets dex and wisdom until they keel over dead instantly. fast, vivious way to kill off anything vulnerable to +2 weapons in game.</STRONG>
I mentioned this before, but it's still sleazy enough to mention again. After killing HD in SOA and grabbing his chaos blade, summon him in TOB and you will find he has ANOTHER chaos blade with him. This allows you to either dual-wield chaos blades for serious dex drainage, or more cleverly give one character chaos#1 with belm, and the other chaos#2 with kundane. If they are fighting the same monster that can be hit by +2 weapons, it will drop in a round or maybe 2 max (from massize dex drain). Period. Through stoneskin.

Of course, by TOB levels Korgan can whack almost anything anyway in 1-2 rounds by himself but -- this way is more sleazy -- thus more fun. I suppose. Yet another way to slaughter helpless dragons, BTW. Also works great when spitting off a simulacrum with same weaponry.

The most efficient dual-wield for me is Foedane +5 and defender of easthaven with my fighter/thief. To maximize efficiency wear Jan Jansen armour, now you are 45% resistant to physical damage and every time you hit an opponent you increase your hp by 4. For really tough fights throw in a hardiness and you are unkillable.

Some combos with double effort for a specific purpose:
"delayed death"
Gnasher + JThor
"healer"
Foebane + Adjatha
"dead undead"
Mace of Disruption + Azuredge
"the improved haste"
Kundane + Belm
(ok, it might not work, but sounds good)
"no death/no reload"
Hindo's Doom + Equalizer
"the drain"
Short Sword of Mask + Blackrazor

Barbarians (innate) and Fighter/Clerics (Armour of Faith) can also go high on resistances with Defender of Eastheaven. The most interesting part is when you put on Belt of Inertial Barrier and Roranach's Horn. With Hardiness, Missile and Blunt damage will heal you. Not to mention transforming into a rat (Cloak of Sewers)...

Kovi, how did you manage to dual-wield Azuredge? Whenever I've tried it the game won't let me equip Azuredge in my off hand, and it won't let me put a weapon in my shield slot if I have Azuredge already equipped. All I get is a message saying I can't place a weapon in my shield slot while I have a throwing weapon equipped.

Ooops, sorry for the mistake. As Azuredge can be used also as a Melee weapon, I thought it can be dual wield. Seems a limitation of the game engine.

@ Craig.
SO tell me Craig,
which weapon do you use on the
main hand, and which on the off hand.
I'm talking about CF & Belm.

If your a kensai mage I recommend dakkon zerth's blade, and either celestial fury, crom fayer, or (insert your prefered sword in here). But Dakkon Zerth's adds an extra 1-4 lvl spell, a mus for mages.

Dak'kon's Zerth Blade is a pretty decent off-hand weapon indeed, especially since it also gives an AC bonus.

Defender of Easthaven is also quite useful, but not as great as CF or CF. :D

Another strategy along the lines of the Dexterity drain using the Chaos Blade is casting Ray of Enfeeblement at an opponent, reducing his Strength to 5. An Archer at 12th level can then follow-up with his Called Shot ability to reduced the opponent's Strength by 1 point for every hit. At 6-8 attacks/per round Improved Hasted, and with a Thaco of -10 or so, the Archer can kill just about anything so Enfeebled in a single round.

Obviously CF, it does way more damage when you factor in the electric damage
