Word of note sugah your Wizard has to have high enough wisdom to cast spells beyond first level.
If the spells are not there that could be the reason. You could try to buy scrolls from Burne and Scribe them in your spell book and see if that works.
Hope this helps

Just a quick note. I agree with Lime_Jello24 except for one thing. For Wizards, the important stat is Intelligence (not wisdom). For clerics, rangers, and paladins, it is Wisdom, and for Sorcerers and Bards it is Charisma. These are the character stats that control how well you cast, as well as how powerful of spells you are able to learn.
Yes, it is sad that I know that off the top of my head. Too much PnP D&D...

Duh thats right, I ALWAYS get those confused! (word of note burns it in her head: Clerics Wisdom...Wizards Intellegence) Okay i think I got that now ...heh heh.
I think the best intellegence you should have for your Wizard in the game is either a 16 or a 17. I never had any problems with my Wizards if it was that high.

That isn't quite the type of comment I would expect from somebody who quotes the Knights of Solamnia as a tagline. Sturm would be SOOO disappointed.
You may also note that no dumb question was ever asked; there was just confusion which has, hopefully, been cleared up. The rules of D&D on paper or in this game can be confusing to somebody who has never played - even if they memorize the player's handbook. I'm glad we can help each other online to clarify the game mechanics.
Happy demonslaying to all.

Sturm would also be disapointed that you call attention in knowing simple things when you should be modest or passive about it.
giving advice to obviate the waste of forums space does not go against "My Honor is My Life"
i am sorry i refered to it as dumb tho, i should be more compassionate to others feelings...
