Displaying yer extra swords and stuff
Is there a mod or something that would let you hang some of your extra swords and weapons and stuff on the walls?
How 'bout a mod with, say, purchasable mannequins (made from upright dead bodies?) that you can dress up in some of your extra armor and/or clothing?
I haven't tried any of the mods y'all recommended yet. After getting my computer back my phone lines at home went dead.
I have all these extra swords and maces and stuff I'm having a hard time selling stacking up on benches and tables around old Hlaalo Manor. I thought, as pathetic as this sounds, that it'd be cool to decorate with them.

So I have travelled throughout the land and was a pilgrim all my life, alone and a stranger feeling alien. Then Thou hast made grow in my Thine Art under the breath of the terrible storm in me.

There are mods that allow you to display items, including weapons and armor, in transparent glass cases. There are also mods that allow you to rotate these items. But I haven't seen items that support directly placing weapons/armor on walls.
I have seen seveal mannequin mods that provide dress-up capabilities. Check out this as an example. There are probably others, but I only found this in passing. I'm not really into mannequin display.

Neither am I. Not since Abu's mannequins started getting up and walking from thier posts all the time. Freaks me out every time I turn around and realize I'm not the only animated thing in the room.

Oh, dear...
But seriously, every time I put them back they just get up and start walking again. Clad in ebony, dreugh, glass, and orcish armor... Thank goodness they aren't hostile!
I think I'm just going to haul everything out of the house and do a re-install to counter the problem.

Oh! For what it's worth, there is a Book Rotate mod, that allows you to close opened books, and to place books standing up on a shelf, next to one another. You can get it here. I've found it of considerable use, because I tend to collect the stuff.

I'm pretty new and the only place I use regularly is Rolen Hlaalo's old place. I'd much rather step over a dead body in my own place than leave all my stuff in some guild hostel.
If that two-story tower at the mage's guildhall in Caldera had a hammock, I might move there.
I tried to set up an apartment base in Vivec (St. Olm's maybe) but after I was away for a while more of these corpusmeat eating creeps moved in and took my stuff.
Do y'all pretty much use Mod housing or are there other nice digs you can take over during the game?

Well, I used Hlaalo Manor for the longest time before deciding that the dead body in the middle of the room... It just wasn't working.
I wanted to stay in a city that was under my House's jurisdiction (Hlaalu), so I tried Hla Oad. They didn't have Striders, but they did have boat transport. Unfortunately, the huts don't have much storage space so I had to move back to Balmora.
For a while Balyn Omavel's house was my home (I had to execute him for the Morag Tong anyway). Then I took residency in Caldera next door to Creeper and the Orcs. It was about that time I saw DW trying to convince Fable to download Abu's retreat, so I followed suite. Now I have three mod houses (Balmora, Ald'Ruhn, Pelagiad) and at least six minor houses about the rest of the continent.
But if you're against mods you can just do what I did initially:I simply went to my enemy House's strongholds and wiped everyone out. Of course, I was a thief in the Guild so I had no troubles with bounty. Not a good idea role-playing wise, but it serves for space.

No, I've got nothing against mods. I've just been checking out the modless game before I mess with it and digesting the input I've been getting form y'all and my local MW-playing friends on what mods I'd get the most out of.
I saw a screen shot from one mod that put a nice house on that little river island just south of Balmora. It looks sweet and it'll probably be among the first buildings I add.
Thanks again for all the tips.

lol! Sounds as though you have moved house in Morrowind even more than I have ! In my current game I started off with House D'Orthay; I quite like this mod because of the excellent transportation system and miniquest that comes with it, but it lacks shelving and feels a touch empty and unfinished.. I have the feeling the creator had intended to add more but did not end up getting around to it.
So, I installed Abu's Retreat again... which, as I have already demonstrated, I just love. Then, I ended up joining House Redoran, and from a roleplaying angle it seemed to make sense to be based in Ald Ruhn, so I downloaded Abu's Manor. Again, another excellent mod and surprisingly cozy for its size.. but it just began to feel too big, and the lighting (except in the Alchemy area, which is very nicely done), is a bit too bright for my tastes. So the other day I was about to move back to Abu's Retreat when I read about The Archmage Tower V2 in Pelegiad. In particular, the quest you are required to complete to gain the keys sounded intriguing. So I downloaded that and finished the quest, which was a lot of fun. When I explored the Tower I was seriously wowed... the work is beautiful. A lot of people don't care how "cozy" a house in MW is since it is only a game. But I like for a place to be visually pleasing and homey, as well as functional, and the Archmage Tower is all of those things.... not to mention a very nice hidden secret (highlight to read) It has an awesome teleportation system that connects with all the mage guilds including the one in Mournhold
So, since it caters to mages, I think I'll be hanging my hat there for a while. My only real criticisms of the place are that it has not been updated to include alchemy ingredients from Bloodmoon, and it contains some seriously uber potion brewing equipment.. but it is easy enough to place these items into storage and use the stuff I already have. There are also a number of high capacity baskets in the alchemy room, so I can use one of these for any Bloodmoon ingredients.
As an aside, how do people view mods with teleportation systems? Since I am something of a purist, I initially shunned them. However, I have a lot going on in my life, so my gaming time can be quite limited. If I'm only able to play for a bit, it is nice to be able to expore or work on quests rather than spending that time travelling from one place to an other...

well...
well im on "the box" so no mods for me... at the moment i am set up in a small house that used to belong to fadase salvayn in tel branora. not the biggest or grandest, but it is in a tree and its not a shack. anyone thought about going for ghostgate? or do the ordinators respawn? also, couldbnt you get good enough to kill an npc with one hit, kill someone with an ordinator in their house, pay the bounty then have an armed guard? useless as it would be?
i may soon relocate to Nerano Manor in balmora, but seeing as i dont really horde much, i wldnt use the space. where look good and would easy for a lv7 char to conquer???all advice welcome
