Keldorn

Post by Faeyson »

Is there any way to get Keldorn back into the party after I've chucked him out? (You know, after his little quest-thingy. I told him he should go back to his wife and I didn't need him anymore. Actually, I've done this twice, as he was back home after I had told him the first time. Took him into my party again for some time, then sent him home again.) Now I decided on a final party and want Keldorn to be in it, only, I can't find him anywhere. Is there a chance to get him back? Maybe by changing the code? Or if I import him? (Am playing multiplayer.)

just go back to an old save file and import him from there, and set his experience to the same level as the other characters

I wish I could. Sadly, I have the habit of overwriting my old save files.

Have you looked in the Radiant Heart headquarters? He hangs out in one of the rooms at the very back.

I did that too (selected the option of go home, as opposed to the one to go home, I'll see you in a day or so.) and he was gone for good.

------

instead of making a new thread i searched and found an older one.

Basically, is Keldorn good? because he seems great, but his Dexterity is 9! i mean come on!

Basically is he worth it? i mean is he better than say.... Mazzy?

Well..

Keldorn is a solid heavy melee, but he's not unique in that. All the tank NPCs are solid choices, flavour to taste.

Depending on how you progress through the game, you will come across a very handy pair of gauntlets that set the wearer's dexterity to 18.
Also, I can't recall what class you are playing, but if you are not a paladin, remember that Keldorn in the only NPC (discounting a certain high level thief ability) in the game who can weild Carsomyr. Personally, I find he is a tad too self-rightious, and I don't like his blinkered attitude towards the Drow, but from a strategic point of view he can be very good, depending on how you play him.

spoiler, highlight to read: You should find them, if you are thorough, while doing Keldorn's quest

I've never had either in my party for any great length of time, let alone both, so I can't really compare.

I didn't want to start a new thread about the same guy either. I'm in the middle of the quest with Keldorn, and just learned of his wife's affair. He took off and said to meet him at the Radiant Heart building in three hours. The trouble is, I made the idiot mistake of resting, for a good eight hours. Is he supposed to be inside the building, outside, or what? Did I screw up my game by doing this? I can't find him anywhere. The last save I have before doing this was quite a while back in game time.

Keldorn is excellent at melee, and while in the manual the Inquistor kit sounded weak (it did to me), its actually VERY powerful. And as DW said, he can wield Carsomyr.

I have him in a party right now, with his Dex at 9, at low levels in Chapter 2, and his AC is -2, which makes him hittable (but not horribly so at this point in the game).

With the proper equipment, he's indestructible. But, then again, which tank isn't?

I personally love his personally and his character, but again, it's just a matter of taste.

Does the Carsomyr+5 do 1D12 + 10 against chaotic evil opponents then?

I don't think there's problem for resting 8 hours. He should be in his quarter of the Radient Heart HQ. Inside of the very back room (go through the hall and there's a door).

As for the general topic, I like Keldorn. I've never create Paladin as my main character, so I always take him in my party. His weakness is not really a problem, as he's a melee fighter and there're plenty of potions to enhance his Dex duration of each battles (unlike Str, there's no need of Dex outside of battles), or get the certain equipment. The Inquisitor is my favourite paladin kit as well, since the Dispel and True Sight are very useful he can cast faster than spell casters, and the lack of Lay on Hand and Turn Undead really doesn't matter (potions and clerics do better job). He also has good lines with PC, Mazzy, and will be teased by Imoen (in ToB).

Yup, in addition to the 1d12 +5, it gets another +5 against CE opponents.

The damage isn't even the best part of Carsomyr.

The Dispel effect it has is.

The 50% magic resistance ain't too shabby, either. I can't count how many times it's saved my butt.
