I see what you mean and the only probable reason that I got through BG2 so quick was that I used a guide and in parts was much needed. Yeah KotOR did feel more FPS than rpg but hopefully Obsidian have read similiar things and will do what they can to rectify it(or not as the case maybe) so hope for the best, prepare for the worst and bring on 2005
When Evil beckons what will you do?
Will you run and hide?
Or will you answer the call and revel in it's power. It will set you free, to do what you want....when you want. It will unleash you, let you become anything you desire and gain power over those weaker than you.
But will you care about their plight, their screams and cries for mercy? No, for doing so would would make you as weak as them and there are always others willing to take your place from you...

I mean I got through KOTOR1 in what was basically about two days of non-stop gaming. which meant that in a weekend I'd finished the game. You could (and do) point to the fact that the game is to short, but then again I completed BG2 SOA in about the same time
....... I mean it took me about a month to complete BG2 though in hours it was more or less the same as KOTOR.

lol you are contradicting yourself.... anyway i find it impossible to beat bg2 in less than a week because you need to at least half the side quests or you'll be too weak to fight the harder enemies, and half the sidequests in bg2 is a lot of time.....
BTW, how many times have u guys beaten BG2 and Kotor?
Well, there is talk about Obsidian Entertainment taking on the sequel, but until I see some release dates/developer notes or screenshots, I'm not putting much stock in that, even if two magazines are featuring articles for it.
IT just doesn't make sense for Lucas Arts to give the Star Wars license to Obsidian Entertainment, with them being a new group of developers, with little to no actual experiance designing games, much less a new engine (which they would have to do, as Bioware owns the rights to the Odyessy engine). In the long run, it wouldn't be as profitable for Lucas Arts to give the project to another developer, as it would expend costs in designing a new engine, as well as the fact people would be more leary about shelling out money for a game made by an unfamilar developer, who have barely had time to cut their teeth in the industry.
Of course, the counter argument is that Bioware is working on Jade Empire for the Xbox, but that is nearing completion, and it wouldn't be long before Bioware would be able to focus their efforts on KotOR2...
Bioware will not be making Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2: The sith Lords. As you already know Obsidian is making it. The reason they will make the sequel is Bioware will be too busy making there new game Jade Empire. So Bioware and Lucasarts are allowing Obsidian to make the sequel.
