My Thread

Post by Bloodthroe »

I was just wondering why my thread says it was moved. I originally posted it in the SYM, because it was about what people's opinions of MMORPGs were. Not about a specific game.

I personally don't like them, for how much time it takes to play them.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

I moved it - as I also wrote in my reply in the thread itself - because the Game Discussion forum is the forum for general discussions about games.
Thus that forum would be a better place for the thread then SYM, which generally is for "non-game off-topic" debates and posts.

Well I was just curious and I don't really remember SYM saying anything about it being non-game off-topic. I don't really know how you got that impression. Infact this is what it actually says "Anything goes... just keep it clean." Where as to Game Discussion says it's about any PC or console games that don't have their own forum. Not opinions about game types. That aside, I do think SYM could be about things that have to do with games. Like whats going on at their companies (e.g. bioware - blizzard) not having to do with any specific game. Your post was edited, I read it before it was edited saying you moved it. So I didn't see it.

SYM encompasses the majority of non-gaming industry related material (as is obvious by the amount of spam, politics, news, debates, etc.). Your topic was on MMO's, and whether people like or not. Now, we're not saying that sort of topic isn't allowed within SYM, but it's bound to be passed up for the other hot topics. In the Game Discussion forum, it is more appropriately placed, considering that MMO's are games, and the Games Discussion forum garners the sort of forum-goers that would be more concerned with such a topic.

Well - I don't know when you read my post, but the editing was done when the thread was moved, just a few minutes after my first post in the thread.

And as Aegis also stated, a post of that sorts in SYM would likely drown in the masses of posts regarding non-game related stuff

But of couse - if you feel like I've overstepped a boundery, you can take it up with Buck Satan.
