Did you check the official website?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Well instead of posting why you didn't look it up yourself. I do believe it's shipped september 13, 2004.

Although the site is neat. You can even download a little gameplay footage of fable.
I kill two dwarves in the morning, I kill two dwarves at night. I kill two dwarves in the afternoon, and then I feel alright. I kill two dwarves in time of peace and two in time of war. I kill two dwarves before I kill two dwarves, and then I kill two more.
I may be bad, but I feel good.

I know what you mean. Athough for me, as time goes on, I want it LESS because I've had to wait so long. You know what would have been better than pushing it ahead one season at a time? Pushing it ahead one or two full years, so that we all just GO ON with our lives. Or maybe even not publishing all this hype about it so far ahead of it being released. What, did they need the money from the pre-orders and press to have the funds for "tweaking"? Ooooo, it makes me bitter. Very very bitter.
Way to go for the game designers, though. Must be nice to have that kind of job security. A lifetime project.
you know what they say about all work and no play...
It's totally not worth the monetary rewards!!!

I KNOW!!! in my frustration I bought another RPG, morrowind, best rpg i ever played, and i have trouble imagining anythign getting better than that... I HAD BETTER BE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED!!!!! or else thats a year or so of wiating down the tubes. but its excellent that its multiplayer... one of the biggest problems (i think) with rpgs is that you cant relaly have friends over to play them with you... it gets kinda annoying after a while. haha... and i can only play so much 2 player halo before it gets old.

@JesterKing - you can play too much 2 player halo  . But yeah Fable keeps getting dropped back in release date, and I don't mind that too much, if the times going towards making a better game, but I seriously doubt that Fable will match the level of hype its recieved.
From "Feet of Clay" By Terry Pratchett:
"It seemed to be a chronic disease. It was as if even the most intelligent person had this little blank spot in their heads where someone had written: "Kings. What a good idea." Whoever had created humanity had left in a major design flaw. It was its tendency to bend at the knees.

I'd have to agree in one sense, too hyped too long means it can hardly meet anyone's expectations. On the other hand KoToR was hyped, over-hyped, delayed, and delayed again yet I think it did a pretty good job living up to the hype.

Fable certainly has it's 'coolness' with respect to the physical changes of the avatar depending on how you play. But how far will that take you. What intrigues me more is the 'alleged' reactions of townsfolk to you depending on whether you play the role of hero or menace. I like the idea of the locals' running for cover when I come to town, and perhaps a sleazy bar tart or two giving me the business.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Apparently the whold issue right now with holding it back is the combat system, or so say some articles i have come across. I like the idea of becoming a godlike person with huge legions of followers. call it teenage power fantasies, but hey isnt that what videogames are all about?
