Traps Question for newbie

Post by fudge »

Ive finished baulders gate 2 already and im going through it again (i deleted my save game and now i need it again for the expansion). Ive read a couple of strats and they say that traps are awesome. So ive invested points in setting traps.

One question though, this will sound stupid, but how do i use the traps??

ive tried using the "setting snare" skill and this jaw like trap springs from the ground were i set it. But the enemy walks all over the trap and even i walk through it without it setting it off.

What am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

First, you can't set off the trap, only hostile creatures can do that.

To use the snares just click where you wan't to set them, depending on your 'set snare' stats, not every trap is set successful.

As to enemies walking over the snares without seting them off, I can't imagine what that was, the traps should go off once an enemy walks into the vicinity of a trap.

Thanks. Well what happened was I set a city of traps under a Liche and opened up the coffin.
He arose from the ground as a cyan "neutral" pc. Then after i talked to him, he turned red "aggresive" and continued to pound me. The traps didnt go off and there was no possible way that he could avoid all the traps i set around the coffin.
