 weelllll this tells me that your 'Barbarian8 fighter8 and paladin15'
is dummer then me (no brains), you need int of 10+ to make a safty role ageanst flayers.

to stay safe u need int, wiz, at 10+ to be safe ageanst magicel spells and that efect the mind/bodie right now your chacter is flayer meet only way to fix it is at every 4th lvl up u put a point into int but seeing the lvl u are thats way to late, well if u remake aleays remember int/wiz is much needed if u need to lower str/dex/con/chr
 to die in battle is a great honor :p but to have your pockits pick by a kinder is a privelege

I think you need Int, because that's what they're draining and Wis, because it gives you Will saves and you need those to counter their stun spell. I'm not entirely sure about this, but if you can somehow make yourself immune to their stun spell, you probably won't get Int-drained, because I think they need to hit you in order to do that and that won't be easy with their crappy attack bonus.

BTW, how did you get to become a barbarian8 fighter8 paladin15? That's level 31!

You also need to kill them before they have a chance to suck your brains out. I just completed IWD2 solo with a fighter/cleric and never once had my INT drained, so I think one of the buff spells I used was protecting me from it. Death Ward, maybe?

Yeah that's what I thought. I had the following spells on at the time:

Armor of Faith, Aid, Protection from Evil, Champion's Strength, Prayer, Recitation, and Holy Power.

I dunno why, but I sometimes took physical damage from mind flayers, yet never once lost INT. Bug?

I don't use Dalekeeper at all, ever, btw.

What I did was summoned a load of creatures at them and backed 'round the corner into a smaller corridor. Then threw fireballs over my summoned creatures until all of the mind flayers died. Maybe you could use that tactic, but with different spells depending on current party? I always find with a smaller party that summonings and tight places work dramatically to your advantage, especially when you start getting Greater Boneguard Skeletons, and things akin to them. If not try beefing your characters with Cleric or Paladin spells, especially ones which prevent Mind altering spells.

Oh, and if ye start backing into corridors, try to pick one without a lightning generator.
