Best spell in the game (for us Tank lovers) :D

and its cheap too (only 5th level spell). But useless against liches and other mages with spell traps.

IIRC, Breach works through all of those. The only way to stop against breach is to have a Spell Immunity: (whatever type Breach is) cast.

nope. breach will go right thru spell immunity abjuration...so will ruby ray, khelbens warding whip, etc.

the only way to stop breach is spell shield, or improved invisibility/spell immunity divination combo. and a monster, if you use the spell immunity divination/improved invisibility combo, can still breach you if they're scripted to cast the spell...and you can breach a monster with spell immunity divination/improved invisibility using chain contingency, which will cast targetted spells (like breach) on improved invisible monsters.

now spell immunity abjuration will stop dispell/remove magic...

understand this as well, breach will only remove combat/elemental protection, like protection from magic weapons, stoneskin, and protection from elements...it will NOT remove spell shield, globe of invulnerability, etc...

so a solo sorc would have breach, to let his summons attack effectively, but breach is much more a spell for the party sorc or mage, so minsc can kick their butts... :)

Breach is really the only spell you need against enemy mages. I never use ruby ray, khelbens, or even pierce shield, even though I still memorize at least one of those. All you need is some breaches to kill the PFMW and stoneskins and your warriors do the rest. Pierce shield is nice too for the MR lowering. Spellstrike seems like a waste of a 9th lvl spell.

True in the base game (except for liches), but not really true in Tactics.
Notwithstanding, Breach is a great spell.
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

I thought liches are immune to Level 5 spells and below. Also when I casted Breach on Jon, who had Spell Trap on, it says "Aura Cleansed", and not "combat protections removed". Keldorn's attacks all had "no effect".

Liches (and some others) are immune. "Aura cleansed" is Jon's permanent spell casting alacrity.

Spell Shield, while a worthless spell for you, is very useful for enemy mages, and they use it often. It eats one of your breaches. That's bad. Also, I believe Spell Trap will eat a breach, but I could be wrong. Spell Turning will reflect it back on you. Be warned, though... Breach only removes the physical and/or combat protections from a mage. Any and all spell traps, spell immunities, spell deflection/turning, and globes of invulnerability will still remain. (That's what Spellstrike is for. That's why it's 9th level.)
