What do you think of this party:
I wanted to use the guys I had in BGI
Here's my party:
Krunchy: Berserker (I'm going to dual class him to Cleric when I reach level 13).
Minsc
Jaheira
Imoen
It's a small party, which means I'll level up faster (yay!). I also think I have all the bases covered, and Jaheira is doing an ok job in the healing department (I can't wait to dual class). I just picked up Imoen, and I'm trying to find my way out of Spellhold.
I hate Imoen and Jaheira and dont like the Berserker class I think your better of with the ranger dual class instead of berserker but its just 1 mans opinion
LOL, what is it that you hate about them? Their personality or their class/skills?
I think a Berserker/Cleric makes a great team with Jaheira and Imoen. Jaheira is a spectacular tank/wizard disabler and Minsc can also be a great tank. Imoen can make an OK mage at high levels.
I do believe that this party is a well balanced and fun party to play. Then again, this is my opinion.

Alrighty then, one negative, one positive.
Curious: Why do you hate Jaheira and Imoen?
Both fill the slots of two classes well, and since I'm playing such a small party, Imoen is leveling up very quickly.
BTW, if and when I reach ToB, I think *S* might join up. He fits the storyline pretty good.

Well..
You'll do fine with that group, you have all the critical bases covered.
I've actually never played BG without Jaheira in my party, though I mostly have her as a Ranger/Cleric - which actually seems to suit her better, I think, though she'd also be a good blade.

I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.
Also, if you're a good-aligned character, this party makes the most sense (to me personally). Whenever I play a good character, I generally use these NPCs, because I don't think a good-aligned character would drop his or her old comrades.
Granted, I love Minsc and Imoen, so I usually have them anyways. If I want to try something different, I'll generally drop Jaheira if need be.
I like your party. I would indeed recommend picking up the new NPC in ToB, and if you want, pick up another mage (though I understand your want for faster leveling).

Actually, I'm having a little radical idea (albeit, this is far off).
I might Dual-Class that ToB NPC into a Mage.
I'll be covered in the Tank department with the Protagonist, Minsc, and Jaheira. With a smaller party, *S* will level up faster, and I'll eventually have him take the role of both a Tank and a backup Mage to Imoen.
Ya see, every character in my party (except for that goofy Minsc) covers two critical areas already. This would increase he value of that 5th character even more.
BTW, about what level is *S* when you get him? Does he have access to Fighter HLA's?
TIA

I usually don’t care for Imoen either (although it breaks my heart when I have to tell her to find her own way out of Spellhold). Jaheria is a great tank though.. In SOA she is one of the most powerful NPC’s in the game. The number of attacks she gets, plus she can specialize, and she can cast Iron Skins, which means she does not die a lot, if not at all. In TOB though her multi-class catches up to her and she doesn’t level quite as well as the other characters. But, she’s worth it for SOA, and still isn’t a slouch for TOB.
Btw, The Beserker/Cleric Duel Class is an extremely powerful character. In fact it’s one of the most uber combinations in the game, up there with the Kensai/Mage. It blows away a Ranger/Cleric.

Really? Cool!
I actually based the chatacter (loosly) on a character I played in D&D 3rd edition a year or two back. My Berserker abilities haven't been "reactivated" yet, so maybe that's why I don't see the "power" in this class yet.

Well there are a couple of things you need to do to make it powerful. Specialize in a blunt weapon like the flail for The Flail of Ages before you duel class. And, yes you must use the Beserker Rage. It basically makes you immune to anything that would take you out of a fight that’s not damage oriented. Hold, Maze, Imprisonment, etc…If you don’t plan on using the rage then it defeats the purpose. So, having weapon specialization, Enrage, and access to priest buffing spells like Righteous Magic and Blade Barrier make you a slaughterhouse.
Spoiler
Take on Kangax by yourself and you’ll rip him apart with Sunray and your enrage ability. It’s the easiest character to take on Kangax with, since you’ll be immune to his imprisonment and you'll have Sunray and/or False Dawn.

HLA = High Level Abilities
And he’s using S because he doesn’t want to spoil who it is he's talking about. If you don't know then it's good you don't as it's a spoiler.

How do you pick high level abilities? I'e never really played a game long enough to get that high, which is really sad because i get side tracked a lot
