Single Lightsaber strategies?

Are there any benefits to using a single saber over a double-bladed or dual sabers? (I am implying of course that you take two-handed mastery into account). And if there are not any benefits, is there any way to make a single saber do equal damage?

Defence and better to-hit.

Using a single weapon, and specialize in it you recive +3 to AC and +3 to hit.

This is not necessarily an advantage to a single lightsaber... but i will tell you how i dominate w/ one lightsaber.

Get Master Speed (or Knight Speed) to add 2 or 3 (respectively) attacks per round, and get master Critical with Nextor and Opila (which gives you larger Critical Threat Range and Massive Damage on Criticals)... so I can effectively... in one swipe of my lightsaber... take usually like a 45-52-50 damage. GOod stuff!!!
