Telvanni/Mage Guild

Post by fable »

It's been quite a time since I first played the game, so I just want to be certain of this: you can't join the Telvanni if you've already joined the Mage's Guild and vice versa, correct? This may be obvious, but hey, I'm just restarting after not having played for a couple of years--and it's not as though there aren't tons of other things to do in Morrowind, too. ;)

Thought so. I always considered that odd. I guess a portion of my mind was still hoping after returning to the game that it wasn't so. ;)

Yes, one of my characters is currently in both. Arch-mage, in fact, and very high in Tel.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

You have to join the Telvanni to beat the main quest don't you? You have to become Hortator of all 3 houses, and Telvanni is one of them I believe, it's been a long time since I played last.

Surely the game developers want to give the option of being able to finish the game no matter the house you join, especially considering that you can only become a member of one great house.

Dragon Wench is right, you can become Hortator without joining the house.

I understood he meant you could join both. :) I wasn't sure, however. It certainly seems odd, but as long as it's in place, I'll probably go ahead and go for it.
