A Rash of Insults

I was searching for the killer in Vivec by asking around in the Hall of Justice, which led me to the Office of the Watch. A man in there asked me to apologize for him to a mage named Trebonius. He offered me 50 coins, and appearently gave me a book or something, which I did not notice at the time. Upon finding Trebonius, I saw that there was no 'Apologies' option which I could bring up. Appearently I accidentally botched yet another quest without even knowing. I did this with the main quest by selling Progress of Truth which I must deliver to Cosades, but I was able to steal another copy. I was wondering if anyone who remembers this quest could please inform me as to what book I need to give Trebonius in order to complete the quest. This would be a great help to me. Thank you.

Are you sure it was Trebonius, the archmage of the Mage's Guild? I seem to remember that being a Telvanni person you had to bring the apologies to, wasn't it? This may be a stupid question, but did you find the entry in your journal?

Yes, it was Trebonius. I made another character and went all the way to Vivec to get the quest again, and the book I recieved to give to him was Traer's(?) Daedra and Alssaldkjalksji(whatever). Anyways, I stole the book from the library and was able to complete the quest. Thanks anyways, though.
