Alchemy room in Dragon's Eye

Post by Sayne »

How do you make the guy make the damn mandrake root stuff? I put the modified mandrake root on the table on the far right, I intimidated him with my dwarf to make the stuff, but after doing all this, and the lights stop flashing, the histaschi or whatever the hell it's called isn't made, he just keeps saying that these things take time and I need to be patient. Before all this, I had cleaned out the alchemy lab of most of the items. Do I need to find them again and replace everything, or is all that is necessary the modified mandrake root?

For the record, Black Isle hates you.

The table you need to put the ingredients on is NOT the farmost east table like the game tells you. It's the second-farthest one, just to the right of the very center of the lab, and filled with alchemical equipment. This is the table where the original mandrake root was sitting, but if you're a packrat like me you probably took it and couldn't remember which table it was on.

So it is, in fact, the center table, and not the westernmost table. Because Black Isle hates you.

We had trouble sometimes too, if there was a regular histachi brew already in there. We took the brew out and made sure only the modified mandrake was there for it to work.

Also keep in mind that it takes a LOT of time before it is completed, i believe you need to rest for a day or 2-3 before it is finished. Making it yourself is much faster and easier but you prolly don't have anybody with a high enough alchemy skill.

Once I had the damn things on the right table, the potion was ready as soon as the lights stopped flashing.

Thats wierd, the fact that it can take so long is perhaps yet another bug in dragons eye, wouldn't surprise me,thats just sad.

Hm, maybe it was a bug. For us, one of us pulled the chain after inserting the modified mandrake, it says you hear a chain tighten (or something like that). Then after some 30 seconds of electric flashes circulating all the work benches, it says you hear a chain loosen in the distance (again, or something like that ;) ), and the brew was ready.
