Need to change alignment...Help pleeze!

Post by tRiKzTaR »

Hi there...

I have a problem...My PC was originally Neutral Good, but when I made the "wrong" choice in one of the tests in hell (the one where you can choose to get one of the npc's killed and something else), he became Neutral Evil...But when I look in Shadow Keeper he's still considered Neutral Good, so what I really would like to know: Is there a way to change his alignment back, as I don't wanna finish ToB with an evil character, since I'm not playing evil??

Like all the bonuses in the tests(immunity to weapons, resistances etc.) it seems to be considered temporary...dunno...

Temporary? Do they ever wear off?

so what should i do with the sword (blackrazor)to avoid changes in allignment(from LG to NE? can i just keep it in the container or should i throw/sell it away?..in hell, i stole the tear from the djinn & he's still alive..now, my paladin is still LG...so if i throw the sword away, will the allignment stay LG?..thanx

If you have already opened the door, and is still Lawful Good, then you don't have to worry about anything. The sword doesn't change your alignment, the test does.

In Hell, you're given the choice of giving the genie the sword and get the gem (good) or killing the genie and get the gem (bad). If you do the bad way then your alignment will change.

But you did neither. So if you're already out of Hell, and you're still Lawful Good, you don't need to worry about alignment change.

So there's a third (neutral) way to some of the quests? Do you get the Good reward for this or none at all?

Well there isn't really a third way, but there are some "oversights" with script and such things. An example would be the previous case, where you can just pick pocket the genie for the Tear, this obviously should not be possible, so it's an error with the game. There are several other things as well, but I can't really remember then at the moment.

If you don't do the evil way - either good or exploiting a bug - then I believe you get the good award. Since there is only a check to see if it's Evil or not Evil. Since your choice was not Evil - it wasn't Good either, but that doesn't matter - you get the Good reward.

Edit - By the way, Baldurdash bug fixes remove these errors, so you only can do the Good way or the Evil way. But since the bug fixes isn't compatible with ToB (yet), people with ToB and people without the bug fixes and still do the "Neutral" way.
