Merry band of Monks

Post by sp8472 »

Is there any order of monks here that I could join? Can't wait for the expansion to get to my local BB. Went today and they didn't have it. Now, do all characters really start at level 20? Including all the kits?

I think they start with the bg2 cap maxed out so they will be around 20 but it varies by class.

at the start you get 2,5 million xp. that means level 19 for a monk.

and there's no monk guild or so.

I'm gonna max all my characters b4 playing tob so that would be around lv23 for a monk.

right....that would also include the 10% magic resistence you get at the end. Maybe I should start a guild or something. How would I go about doing that?

Hey. As for that Monks guild . . . I started a "guild" of sorts a little bit ago but it never really took off. Called it "The Monastary" and there are about 3 members, well maybe 2. Feel free to join (and post away!) or start your own or whatever. Monks are pretty spiffy.

A question. Will Monks be totally immune to magic by 40th level? Heck, they'll be close by 25th level or so! Just wondering if anyone knew. Will Monks also get those special abilities from the Warrior table thing?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info...where is your monastary located? It would just be as easy if I joined it than start a new one. You may want to let others on this board know that it exists again. As for magic immunity, they should be by then. Don't forget that there are items that also would boost that resistence.

Are you refering to the new book Swords and Fists book or something different when you meant warrior table thing? Also, if I'm not mistaken, we should be able to get extra attacks with those levels. More than 4 attacks per round...wow.

thanks

Oh and I just got back from the official site, and we will be able to carry all our items if we import our character/party!!! That means that at my level, 21st I think, I'm already 93% magically resistent.

You know what would be interesting? If we could scrounge up a few of our monks, and play the game as a unit. Indeed, then we really would be a merry band of monks.

I'll bumb the guild to the top so people can see it again. Maybe it will go better the second time around.

I was refering to the abilities that GameBanshee posted about in the "News" section. The ones that "warriors" can pick in ToB. It'd be nice to have some more, but Monks have some pretty good ones as is.

It would be awesome to play through the game as a bunch of Monks, however my internet connection is very poor and I don't think I could join. It would be nice ot hear about that when/if it happens.
