My fighter has a thac0 of -2 right so I go to the mind flayers dungeon and to my surprise they can't hit me. It's great.I can fight 5 at a time there psionics can't get to me either. I got that greenstone amulet and it works permanantly. I wade through them like Maximus in the village gladiotor arena. My mage had tremendous troubles getting through there but this time I am so happy I though to right it down. Stupid ^%$#&& illithids.
It brings me one step closer to completing the game with an oppsite character. Sorry I had to get it out of my system

damn am I stupid not thac0 thats to hit. I got AC of -8 i know you can get lower HOW? what are your characters AC and what do you equip to get so low?

My Cavalier is -13 , but once you get past -10 the game doesn't take it in account when figuring damage.

Haha well the beholders are even more laughable than those stupid Illithids. I just got my warrior the cloak of mirroring from that shark town&gave him a few protective spells and he plowed thrue all beholders in the beholder dungeon in underdark ALONE. A sight for the eye..

Gorgon Plate +4 ,Shield of Balduran +4 ,and the Ring of Gaxx +2. Without the shield I'm still at -9 and that's how I usually am. I dual wield. I use the shield only for the beholders.

Well, it reduces your Charisma and Constitution, while Gorgo adds to Resistances...

All so true, but it will lower your AC further. Now I don't use it but if you want to get lower AC it will help do that.

tranchies plate is a PLATE MAIL..not a full plate...it has ac -2...armor of the hart is better ac -3...it should have been a full plate +5,,then people migth have considered it..now never give it any thought

I downloaded it but my fighters in the underdark and my mage has completed the game. My fighter character has over 110,000 gold pieces I could buy quite alot.

110 grand isnt that much, if you want the real hi end shit, wont last ya long buddy, I remember I had like 170 000 before even going to pay the fee to that GAlean Bayle guy. You know... just so you have something to fall back on... and aftrer the underdark and all that you get a whole lot of equipment you can sell for quite a heft sum.
The shit they have in stores isnt good tho, the best stuff you get in quests for free...

Armor of the Hart is good (-3) but IMHO, Red dragon scale is better. Why? Because it doesn't interfere with Rings or Cloaks of Protection. You end up with -3 AC anyway, but you also get +2 to all saves. The downside is of course that it takes up a ring or cloak slot.
