Weakest possible soloing character?

Post by Rodion Raskolnikov »

This is actually a challenge for all who appreciates the challenge of going solo. Who can solo with the weakest character (and who IS the weakest character to try with)?

I kind of expected that you would come up with a bard kit. Do you think it is possible? I must say that I have my doubts. In case you agree - Who is the weakest character that actually has a shot at it?

Did you even tried a Jester. It rules!

Go invis(2/3 level spell), sing your song(you remain invis) and watch as your foes kill each others.

I doing the game with two carachters, a Jester and an Assassin, it is harder than with a full party but it is really cool.

Actually, there is guy (named BraveSirRobin) in BGDungeon's board that is soloing the game with a Jester.

... is soloing ?

He finished already, didn't he ?

Sorcerer's are simple to solo with. Easier than mage as a matter of fact. Hardest, would be skald, because IIRC, their song doesn't benefit themselves.

Or Beastmaster, or Avenger.

No,no,no. Wizardslayer is the hardest to solo with. No potions or rings whatsoever. The healing swords, heal you too slowly, and there is no armor good enough in the game, to keep you alive. You would have to skip the greater majority of quests (Firkraag's dungeon comes to mind, those wolfwere's heal faster than you can deal damage), and the shadow dragon in suldanessellar would rape you 8 different ways. Given the amount of quests your skipping, and fights your running from, you might not even hit the cap.

Jester is better for solo than other Bard classes, since his song affects others, where most bards' song affect teammates. Since there are no teammates when soloing, I don't think a jester is that bad.

I still say an assassin is harder. Weak in thieve's skills, not great armor, no extra speed to escape, not outstanding in combat, and (worst of all, IMHO) no defense against vampire level drain. I find them a blast, however.

Only class possibly harder to solo, IMO, would be wizard slayer, due to restrictions on magic item use. Couldn't get Ring of Gaxx.
