Wich new RPG to buy
I'm kinda outdated on new rpg's cause I've frozen myself over Baldurs Gate series...
I need a non top computer needed RPG along with some decent single player history.
And, if possible, a first person shooter too. I got Unreal 2, for last FPS...
Any hint?
@Monolith: BG series, IWD series, NWN non expansions, Fallout 1 & 2, Ultima IX (yeah, I know it is bad). FPS: Unreal, UT, U2, Q1,2,3... lots.
If you haven't played it - Morrowind might be worth a try for you. I've even thought about starting it again, just because I lack RPGs to play

If you can find a copy, as far as a great story-based RPG goes I'd highly recommend Planescape Torment!
It has an in-depth story that explores the complexity of the 'human' spirit in a way I've never before seen an RPG do... one of the most amazing games I have ever played...
Holy cow, I've had that forever, and I haven't had the will to play it, maybe I'll fire it up! O.O
play it. now. really. now. stop whatever you're doing. play it. go.
I have PS:T and haven't finished it.... never quite did get a grip on me for some reason.
I found the initial part a bit slow going, but the story really grabbed me around the time I added a certain Tiefling to my party, and found the journal.
The game evokes a finely-crafted, multi-textured novel in which the plot and purpose are not immediately apparent, but as the threads gradually begin to weave together the reader is inexorably drawn in.

Hmmm - maybe I should boot up PS:T once more ... I'm terrible bored, and have nothing to play. But I have tried to get into the game twice already
Otherwise it would likely just be (yet) another trip through BG2 and/or NwN ... not like I don't know thoese games inside out by now. (heck - can answer a great number of NwN gameplay issues from memory by now

@Xan,
Well I'm currently hopping between IWD 2 (again) and SoA (again), along with playing Morrowind for the first time
Actually, this run through SoA is probably the most fun I've ever had. I have an all girl party of mostly spellcasters, and it's a serious blast... literally
Basically, if you take a themed approach it forces you to adopt a lot of tactics you might not have previously employed so it is almost like playing the game for the first time!

Well - after a large number of replays, I simply think it is time to let BG2 and NwN die from my "active" game list, and go for something else alltogether
But maybe I should throw myself over Morrowind again - didn't finish that either, because my character go so insanely powerfull so early that the game hold little challenge for me.

Xandax: have you played any modules for NWN yet? There are a few really good one out there. I highly recommend the Paladin series (even though it's not completed yet).
I'm still considering whether or not to get Knights of the Old Republic - although I'll have to upgrade my computer to run it smoothly. Currently playing through BG1 - haven't played this for a few years.
