Jaheira Romance

Post by CBdragon1 »

The last time I played through I Romanced Aire, so this time I wanted to give Jaheira a shot at my increadible charm and physical prowess. it was going well, but I haven't heard anything from her in a while. I comforted her over the dead husband. Now, nothing. Hare'Dalis in my party, he was chating her up a couple times. Is that it? She did get mad when I told the Drow woman I wanted her as a reward. I didn't sleep with the Drow when she made her moves on me, which Jaheria seemed to appreciate. Any idea what happened, if anything?

Well three things could be involved here.

1. Have you had the various Harpers sub-plots? If not thats your problem. A variety of sub-plots surrounding the Harpers and her being one have to occur for the romance to progress. It usually takes awhile. I think there are some FAQs on this forum which go step by step through them and when they occur. Try a search

2. Jaheria's quest can apparently be broken. Not sure if any of the patches fix that or even how it is broken. I bought the game immediately after it came out and it was the first romance I did. I went all the way through it without to much trouble and since I didn't even know others had trouble with it at the time, haven't really a clue how I did it either. Good luck I suppose. Haven't tried it sense (the romances really aren't engaging enough to do more then once)

3. Are you still in the Underdark? The Harper sub-plots have to occur outside, that is above ground (or in dragon lairs for some strange reason) and therefore if you are involved in the Harper sub-plots but are in the Underdark, you may just have to wait until you get out of the Underdark. Once again I am not sure about this, I am just vaguely recalling what I remember from when I did it and trying to be logical about it.

I have not recived the Harper quests. I remember doing it the first time I played. I am out of the underdark. I'm close to storming Bohdi's lair. I don't get it. WHY WON'T SHE LOVE ME!!! LOVE ME!!!

yeah thats a definite problem, you need the harper quests for the romance to sorta go forward.
BTW Spoiler
Just to pop your bubble when Jaheira first asks you to sleep with her the best option is actually to say "no" so thats just not going to happen for a bit :)

^ With regards to that, IIRC, that's Aerie's romance, not Jaheira's.

Make sure you have either the Baldurdash fixpack for SoA installed, or the official ToB patch if you have the expansion. Jaheira's romance is VERY buggy.

Romance dialogues do not happen in Chapters 4 and 5 (Spellhold and Underdark). This might be why. They only happen in Chapters 2, 3, and 6.

Rest in outside areas to trigger dialogues sometimes.

Finally, use CLUA if you REALLY need to get on with your life, since the romance takes a while to do.

hmm?? doesn't Jaheira ask you to sleep with her, and don't you sorta go "no"? as the best choice (the first time at least), For Aerie I know about that

Nah - Jaheira is a mature widow, and if she offers you her bed, the knows what she's doing :) . Seriously, the Jaheira romance moves to the last chat in either case

re: Nightmare's point about resting outside triggering romance dialogue sometimes.....

To elaborate:

you MUST rest outside at times to advance the romance. If you dont, then the romance will just 'hang'.

Love her voice on that 'Dawning of day' speech :)
