Missing (stolen?) items for Forged Weapons

I've been using Cernd's house to dump all the stuff that I don't want to carry around. I know for a fact that I dropped the Gesen bow and the pommel jewel there.

After I retrieved the other items for The Gesen bow (string) and Equilizer, I went back to Cernd's house and the Gesen bow and the Pommel jewel were gone! Does anyone know if there is random thievery to cause this? Is there a bug?

I pride myself on not cheating, but is there a cheat to create specific items? I worked too hard to collect all these items not to have some fun using them.
