Guar
Guar
In one of the threads i heard about something called a guar. From what i have heard, i think it is a pet like creature. If you can fill me in about this creature i would be thankful.

Wander around in the Ascadian Isles for a minute or two, and you're sure to see one.
I think there may be one person in Vvardenfell who has one as a pet, but usually they're wild or kept in herds for guar hides. It's the thing that looks like a short Brontosaurus with a biiiig round head.

Guars are really strong (relative of course), but really stupid (again, relatively). They are either skinned or used as a beast of burden.
The evil nature of GameBanshee revealed below!
GameBanshee sells Xandax to make ends meet
Then, as if that was not enough, they decide to get rid of me via sweepstakes as well

Yes, you can have a pet guar. I think it's a Hlaalu mission. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Odral Helvi wants rent from two farmers. Highlight for spoilers: One of them doesn't have any money, but is willing to give you his pet guar.

highlight for spoilers
it means highlight after you see the colon. Some people don't want to have the quests spoiled for them, so we either write it in black so you have to highlight to see it, or write SPOILER:

and so forth.
Also, a guar isn't going to help your little woodelf guy very much. He won't last long. I suggest getting youself a bow and some arrows. Much better when you have a woodelf.

If you're on a PC, go to Morrowind Summit and do a description mod database search on "pack" and "companion." You'll be surprised at all the mods that add guars and companions who will follow and assist you with more than just holding items.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

the farmer who owns Corky is the farmer you get the guar from. however, he will not part with Corky until you get the mission from the Hlaalu quest about gathering rent from some farmers unable to pay their rent. Sadly, all he has is Corky. Corky, by the time I got him, was a real cute but SLOW companion. He tried to help as much as he could as I travelled the world. He had a great deal of time climbing the stairs to the silt striders. That was really irritating. Also, the next side quest to that comes in finding a new home for Corky. I wandered EVERYWHERE looking for the lady who raises guar assuming she would be somewhere nearby. I also kept reloading a dozen times b/c Corky would die in some sad battle accident. He kept trying to protect me from some badass critters and just got in the way. Eventually, he died somewhere around Ghostgate and I gave up trying to find him a home:-(
anyway, much later I found the location of the guar chick. Sadly, I did not mark it other than to curse at her and her plentiful guar. Sje was VERY hard to find. Do not quote me but I think she was off the western coast, north of Hlormaren and south of the Koal Cave entrance. I know, I know, nice small area but it has been awhile, I was just out wandering, and I have a piss poor memory.
So, to some things up, the fact that the Guar companion is part of the Hlallu House mission set means that by the time you get that mission from the Hlallu folks in Balmora, you will no longer need yorself a slow lumbering guar to tag along. However, for sheer amusement, Corky was great--even is he could not keep up and died every two minutes.
