Lowest Level to Finish the Game (Spoilers)

Post by Archon of SFL »

I’m approaching the end of my 3rd game. This time around, I stopped leveling on Taris as a 4th level Scout and then immediately picked up 5 levels as a Guardian on Dantooine. I’ve heard several people only level up to 2nd level on Taris, thereby getting an 18th level Jedi at the end.

My question is this: What’s the lowest total level anyone has been when they finished the game? Most of the time I’m trying to get to 20 before the final battle, but what level would you guess you had to be at to defeat Malak on the Star Forge?

I've "unfortunally" always reached 20 very soon on (or even before) the Unknown Planet, so I've not beat the game under less then cap.
You'd have to skip quests and fights to avoid getting to 20 I think - and what would be the fun in skipping parts of the (short) game :)

I don't think that Malak would really be the problem with trying to finish the game under the level cap. It's trying to get through the Star Forge that would cause the most problems (at least for me). If I had to throw out a guess though, I'd say you could probably beat him at level 16 or so if you picked some decent force powers (I just don't think you could actually get to him at that level).

I've read somewhere that some 'speedgamers' by skipping all non-critical quests finished on level-16.

You could always stop leveling up once you are at 16 - just to see how far you can get on the Star Forge

I never thought of that!!! don't level up before you are a jedi and then get more levels as a jedi! I think that is an excuse to play it again!!!

That's the route I'm taking now. I started as a soldier to get the extra vitality and haven't advanced beyond 2nd level. I'm still on Taris, about to head over to Davik's estate. Some of the fights are tough with the PC being such a low level, but you just have to play smart with your NPC's. Although I was amazed that I was able to defeat Bendak as a 2nd level soldier. It took almost all my grenades and medpacks to do it.

Once I get to Dantooine, I should be able to hit 6th level Jedi (I'm planning on a Consular for now) before even completing my lightsaber.
