Can you lower your Charisma below 8?

Post by Findedeux- »

I have been reading about Wizard character creation and one of the recommendations is to lower your CH to 6 since it is not very important for a wizard. But the setup only lets you go down to 8 (excluding dwarves?) so is this a typo? Thanks.

You can't bring a attribute score under 8, unless due to racial modifiers (like dwarf as you mention) at character creation.

Maybe you can with some modification to the game, but not in its normal version. But I don't know anything of that.

Well, if you were to follow proper DND rules you'd see that reducing you stat points below 8, does not generate any for distribution.

Only through racial modifiers and as Noober said it wouldnt net any points even if you could, this was done to stop 18/18/18/18/3/3 characters from the other edition.
