Question on creating characters

Post by TRODTROD »

Hi there, im currently playing BG2 with 6 characters, and when i finish it im going to make them in IWDII.

Now it shouldnt be that hard as i think i can import the pictures but unfortunatly not the voice acting (i think).

BUT, i have a problem, unlike BG i know IWD gives you a set number on attribute points to allocate, you dont roll for them, is there any kind of editor (along the lines of Shadowkeeper for BG2) that will allow me to edit stats such as Dex and Con?

Thanks

Yes, but your characters won't be bantering I think. You'll only hear their voices when you click on them. Though it's better than nothing. :)

Why do you need DaleKeeper by the way? The BG2 NPCs don't have that many attribute points do they?
All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost,
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring,
Renewed shall be the blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

no the characters wont argue with each other unforutantly :( , they only speak when you click them or give them commands, and during battle, depending on how you have the sound settings adjusted

kits

How does this work with the Kits from BG2? There are none in IWD2 (wish there were, I'd like to play a Blade bard rather than the generic one!) - do your characters just defualt to the standard class?

trod you can use those sounds... only thing is that your characters will talk more... and if you choose right sounds then you can have pretty fun talks when playing... and it gives little bit more roleplaying feeling...

another thing, on IWDII can i get thief skills with a Ranger, for example Valygar uses Hide in Shadows, so with 3D&D can i give skills such as Hide, Move silently to Rangers?

you can give skills from other classes to anyone as long as its not meant SPECIFICALLY for a class, such as "use magic device" for a thief
~Sing as you raise your bow, shoot straighter than before

Be advised, you would do well to translate the stats into 3E instead of just copying the numbers, lest you risk upsetting the balance of the game with an overpowered party.

Examples/Suggestions based on respective bonuses:

2E Str 17 = 3E Str 13
2E Dex 18 = 3E Dex 16
2E Con 16 = 3E Con 14
2E Int 18 = 3E Int 16
2E Wis 15 = 3E Wis 14
2E Cha 16 = 3E Cha 13

Etc.
