The module is made for a new character, both story-wise and difficulty-wise.
You can import your NwN character, but it will make it very easy.

You can do that.

Just keep in mind that the story of the games is that NwN and SoU happens about the same time and HotU is following after SoU.

However, there is no reason why you couldn't play the same character all through the game, it just makes SoU very (very) easy.
I do this myself, but then again - I've already completed SoU twice starting with a level 1 - so I can do this withouth missing anything.

But for a new player - I'd strongly recommend using a level 1 character at least for the first play through the game.

You should stuff NWN, just play SoU - Bridge Module - then HotU.

~or~
you could set the difficulty setting to max, and play your char from nwn solo in sou (no henchmen). that would provide at least some challenge (still will be very easy probably until halfway thru the game or so).

other challenging things:

no spam reloads (no reloads on chests to go for best items, etc.)

no reloads after you survive a battle just to see if u could do better at it.

limit yourself to items you find in SOU only. When you start SOU, dump ALL your gear (no, you cant sell it) and start naked. You can always get your NWN gear back later by doing a multiplayer server swap (start multiplayer game, import your char with gear, stow gear in chest, save, exit, import your current SOU char, get stuff from chest.)

i'm sure you could think of other ways to hamstring yourself without starting a new char.

cheers

I doubt that would give much challenge. Once your character is L16+ then completing a module for level 1->12 isn't all that difficult.

well, aside from the challenge aspect, there are roleplaying aspects to it as well. might as well make it as much of a challenge as possible, if want to keep same char, yes?

There aren't any roleplaying aspects to playing the same character in SoU as in NwN that I can see - because the two game-stories aren't related.
