Solo Bard.

Post by keeB »

This is so crazy, first time i've ever played a bard and solo'd at the same time. I'm having tons of fun. BG1 is a lot different than BG2, but im getting used to it. This will be my first time completing BG1, only other time ive played it I did the Nashkel mines and thats it.

My bard seems to be pretty awesome. Although the Bard Song doesnt seem to make any difference in combat anyway. Why is that?

I've soloed a bard before, hes probably one of the only classes who can, the reason the song dosent make a differance is because when you preform another action it cancels the song, at least with the newest patch, be sure to use a lot of wands, and belive me its hard later on especialy if you dont want to use cheese tachtics.

I'm really missing not having a thief in my party, especially in Beregost where i know the wand of lightning is and whatnot. I've done every quest provided in Beregost thus far, and at friendly amn. im a lvl4 right now with the light crossbow of speed :) so far it's been a lot of running around in circles while taking some potshots with the bow. my THAC0 is ****ty, so it takes years to kill someone

TuTu sucks ... I installed it and realized almost immediately that it SUCKS ... :P
The problem is that the people with the most ridiculous ideas are always the people who are most certain of them.

@Curry: I thought Tutu was prette nifte. It's nice to be able to play a kit from lvl 1... Why do you think it sucks?

I had lotsa trouble with Tutu, but when properly installed it makes BG CHEESY... even though fun.

Volk, I must disagree. I believe any class except Druid could solo his way at least to the fight against Sarevok. I'm not 100% certain some of the weaker soloists could kill Sarevok himself.
I have saved games to prove that a Fighter/Mage/Cleric has a fairly easy time of it, and that a Thief can do it.

Soloing my thief tought me a few things about the game, like that there are a finite number of potions and enchanted arrows in stores' stocks. I bought out every last healing potion, including Elixirs of Health, in Beregost, Nashkel, Gullykin, and the Friendly Arm Inn. :)

TuTu is a 700mb giant mod which converts BG1 to the BG2 engine, allowing you to play kits from lvl 1 or playing the game from Candlekeep all the way to Throne of Bhaal.

I think Daveron's looking for what TuTu stands for.

Man, this is so fun. I'm playing an Evil Aligned Bard and just got mad at the whole thieve's guild and took them all out. It kicked so much ass. Wand of monster summoning made it so I only got backstabbed a few times, but even then I had enough protections up to where it didnt hurt too bad. That wand is crucial to my success. Wand of monster summoning + haste = complete massacres, especially when you get Hobgoblins with arrows.
