two unrelated questions. keldorn - shapeshifting

Post by ektoplasma »

first, keldorn's said that his last adventure will be to help rescue imoen, does this mean he'll leave once that is done... or will he stick around all through the game? i've only gotten as far as the underdark, and he hasn't left yet, but i'm sortof worried hes about to?

second, shapeshifting, whats i good for??? surely a character with weapons is going to be better then anything he can shift to? like the cloak of sewers for instance, why become a troll, a slime or a mouse?

No he will not leave ;) (despite his promise, he'll even acompany you in ToB).

Shapeshifting can be useful in certain situations, not for the fighting power but for the special abilities of the creatures you shift into.
For example the troll regenerates HP very fast, the rat is highly resistant to physical damage and the slime is immune to certain elemental damage types and resistant to magic damage.
There are three kinds of people that no one understands: geniuses, madmen and guys that mumble.

Shapeshift can be really nice. After a combat, no need to waste your healing spells & potion, just shapeshift your character in a troll and let it regenerate.

Check out the special abilities of some of the forms, they can have some pretty interesting situational abilities (Hint: resistances....)
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.
