Is there any way?

Post by DeathLich »

Is there any way possible with any weapon that you could get disarmed or fumble the weapon and end up hurting/killing yourself? This includes unique circumstances and if you find any way would you please type it out?
So I offer you respect, and it will take much for you to lose it. But if you do, if you choose to see it as weakness and seize upon your perceived advantage, well...perhaps I'll then let you talk with Guenhwyvar.

My Dm's tended to be a little more devious. You'd never hurt yourself or break a weapon. If he wanted to be nice you'd end up losing your weapon to your opponent. If he was in a foul mood you'd hit one of your companions. We roll played well and played mostly CN characters. A simple Criticle miss could turn into weeks of "I'm gonna get you back for that!" lol.

Be creative

The wonderful thing about D&D is that you can do anything. I think this is a great idea.

I would have the player be disarmed at a critical miss and then have a chance of being destroyed or damaging the Player.

Failed rolls:
dc 14, break on critical miss
dc 9, take weapons damage
I use emotion for the many and reserve reason for the few.

Our DM just dose a random thing usualy, depends on the situation sometimes critical misses hit others next to you, sometimes you loose your weapon, sometimes you trip and fall, all depends on how he feels and how the situation is really.

I Used to use a Crit Miss Table that was broke down by type of Weapon or Attack adn you roled a % to find out who or what you hurt if anything at all. but then again that was 2nd Edition so not sure how it would work with 3rd. If your really interested I could see if I can find it would have to knock alot of dust off some things but will in to see what I can find..heheh
<you feel a sharp pain in your back then hear a whisper> "I hope you enjoyed what you where paid before you decided to come after Jamini. Because I will enjoy what you have left." <You feel the blade turn as the black at the edge of your vision closes around you>
