Just collect loads of potions of invis and buy the ring of invis (if playing totsc) and most "difficult" battles should be easy as pie Don't forget to take out mages, clerics and archers first, with boots of speed you can always outrun the fighters.

No need for xp cap remover, only patience.
Fighter Thief:
I used the dagger of venom from Thunderhammer, and his shadow armor. Boots of speed in the end, boots of stealth in the beggining. Save potions of invisibility, find the ring of invisibility, and have a good bow and longsword ready.
Some say it is possible to solo a fighter, but IMO it is way too "reload" and "reload" stuff.

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Nice story although it didn't really get far... Nevertheless, i'm inspired by your try, perhaps i'll solo with a fighter/thief sometimes too. Or with an assasin, but i don't know if Tutu is very stable... It seems to work with one guy and another guy is screaming that it's the most buggy mod ever made.

I only played once baldur gate 1 and it was with a solo pure mage..........I have some tips if you want:
Buy pretty soon a sling +1 and run a lot attack magic missle.....ring of wyzardry will help you in the begining for more magic missle...at the end I used a lot cloud kill...........I don't have ToSC but I used Xp cap remover.......

Multiclasses characters gain half the HP they'd normally gain. And regarding your Con of 18, you'll have a +2 modifier fo the thief class and a +4 modifier for the fighter class. One of my more successful solos was a F/T and I'd highly recommend it for a first time soloer. Even though some will say it's not necessary I'd say grab a cap remover and a rules expansion for higher levels, because it does take some of the fun out of the game when you realize you've been playing for a few hours and gaining no experience.
I'm almost positive it can be done via difficulty settings.
100% right
Difficulties: Easy-Normal-Core-Hard-Insane
...
Normal: Monsters do 75% damage, spells are learned automatically, HP rolls are max.
...
So put the difficulty on easy or normal when making your character and on level-ups and you should get max hp.
