Whats up with maces

Post by Maruchan »

There has gotta be somthin wrong when it comes to damage dealed from maces. I mean a 50 pound peice of steel on the end of a grip with spikes swung at your head only doing a max of 26 DAMAGE I mean a sword would do about the same damage dont you think. I think thats wrong but its probbly just me. any thoughts or am I just crazy :D

Blows from maces are easily absorbed by your armor, while sword attacks might cut through. I like it the way it is, to me it seems more real. And hitting someone in the head is the same as a critical hit. Normal hits are directed towards the torso, always.

...But then again, how realistic is it to be stabbed 25 times with a dagger in the chest with no armor, and still be alive? Or shot with 10 arrows and still walking and breathing?...

Just a thought.

The strongest weapon (considering normal damage) I've seen in the original un-modded game is a hammer. Anyone with Tribunal knows what I'm talking about :D

If you don't have Tribunal but still want to hear about it read this (blackened because it might cause some irritation among people ;)
Stendarr's Hammer, doing a massive damage of 20-100 with the best attack. Only bad side of it is that it weighs 1000 lbs. And damn does it look cool.

Well, Aevars mace from Bloodmoon has a max dmg of 90, weights 90 pounds and you get it kinda early in the main quest.

I thought Trueflame deals more damage than Stendarr's hammer.

I'm, btw, currently collecting souls to make a set of CE Fortify Strength equipment so that I could handle Stendarr's hammer.

With enchantments. Yes, it most likely does. One of my characters carried both Hopefire and Trueflame, just exchanging them when the enchantment ran out. Good times. They were a bit of a problem when fighting those damn Ricklings, though.
