and now for something completely different...

Post by ElfEleven »

ive played thru BGII a few times with different characters
but i generally play the good guy, or gal, completing all the quests, and earning a good reputation
sidekicks that have usually remained for the long haul and to the final battle have been minsc, keldorn, anomen, aerie, and imoen
although i have tried to pick up just about every character at one point or another to give them a try, i feel like ive missed out on dialogs and group interactions when they leave when one of my 'good' guys comes along
after playing so many times, i just want an interesting and different experience, not a 'kill all the townspeople' game, but go along with the basic plotlines but make different choices and enjoy it instead of making sure every character is playing to their potential and planning everything
so what id like to do this time is play a neutral and evil party just to give those less played character a chance at banter and what not
like edwin, viconia, korgan, jan, haer dalis, and later sarevok in tob
but im also aware that some of the best dialogs are between conflicting characters
so i ask you all, any suggestions for a great fun interesting game?
ive heard jan is very fun, espicially with minsc, and i would like to try the viconia romance, did romance anomen and aerie before, not jaheria though, and ive already played the mazzy and valygar thing
so without giving anything away, please suggest some party combinations that i could try even if someone gets hurt
as far as my pc, i will probably just play whatever class that isnt there already, perhaps a monk or something ive never tried out before
thanks and my apologies for the lengthyness...

My advice...

Get the Happy party portion of the Ease-of-Use mod, and pick some characters you've never played before, even MOD NPCs, like Tashia or Kelsey. Go wild!
I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.

Just use NPC's you've never held on to for very long like Viconia, Jan, and Korgan. They're all full of good quality dialogue, and like previously mentioned I highly recommend one of the sorceror noc mods if you'd rather not have a sorceror as a PC. .

most mods are for windows...
im a mac user so the hacks are limited
(is the ease of use mod mac compatible?)
but i dont mind playing a tamper free version anyways
just looking for some good character combinations
you know, those great one (or few) liners that really make the game
maybe some conflicts or new friendships...
thanks

Mac Mods

I don't have a mac, but there are instrustions for mac installing for weidu mods. Goto http://www.weidu.org then click on standard install instructions, and mac installing is explained. The explanation means nothing to me, but if you own one, it might make sense to you... Good Luck!
