The Duergar in Neverwinter is not the same as the Duergar in D&D. In D&D the duergar is immune to Paralysis, hold ect. and are also immune to phantasms. They would be more of a challenge if they was immune to that in NWN...

I never tried any of those options, as the NwN Duergar seem to have a low resistance to whoop&*$, my preferred tactic :) .
