Spoilers - End fight
One cheap trick I happened upon involved using the spell Otiluke's Resilient Sphere. It makes the protected character invulnerable to everything for 7 rounds. Belhifet will attack someone for a while (doing no damage), even with that spell active.
Other tips - you can give speed boots to your mage and have him/her run around the outside edge to keep the golems busy. If you can cast Mirror Image and Stoneskin, do so. That means you will have a margin of protection and can stop to cast magic missile every so often. I've also heard of someone who managed to get a Chromatic Orb through his spell resistance and saves. Try it. If you get lucky with it, he will be paralysed and you can hack him down.
See if you can occupy big B with just a couple characters. You may be able to use the other ones to cast or drink potions. Archery is also a possibility, if you still have some of the +4 arrows from Lower Dorn's. Those are the only missiles that work. Haste is necessary (don't step on the dispel traps!), and protections are good. If you have a good cleric, you can cast one of the Lathander's Shield spells. They are of short duration, but provide total immunity to melee attacks - you can also act while they are active, unlike the Resilient Sphere.
If you get him to retreat across the circle, cast a summoning spell or two in that time. Fodder is good.
I've always found this fairly easy with a melee-heavy party. I have managed to kill him by charging him down and hacking away with 5 characters while a mage keeps the golems busy.
