Big Game Issues

Post by Altair72m »

I have a number of problems that I am wondering: has anyone else solved these problems.

I am using the 1074 patch with the level up upgrade.

I used the character saved editor to up Magnus and Jana's schematics to 7 but I balanced them with appropriate downgrades elsewhere.

1) When I tried to make the ultralight chainmail so that I could make Elite Plate Mail using Magnus, I could only use Large Leather Armor and it only produced Ogre sized Elite Plate.

2) When I tried to use the ogre sized plate, I could not use it to make a mechanized... whatever that was...the robot with the arms and legs that required Elite Plate and a Mech Spider...Automaton?

3) When I made the mechanized spider, that worked. When I made the Mechanized Medical Spider, he shows no hitpoints and won't activate. Whasupwidat?

Was this an issue with the pre-patch program or is it only in this version.

I have other questions too:

A) Where do I find strong poison without getting a degree?
B) Does Dwarven Armor always fit both humans and Dwarfs or is this a bug on my machine?
C) Why won't Waromon use a shield but he will carry a lamp?
D) How do I get spellcasters to actually use their ability?
E) Is there anyway to get Magnus to use his repair skill?
F) Does the healing jacket do anything without sleep?
G) Anyone know how to turn Car Arcanum into a multiplayer game?
H) Besides Dante and Thorvald and Dog are there any other quest characters that you can get to join and then not finish their quest?
Oh, there are a few provisions of courthe: It mutht be a black eye cauthed by a thtampede of wild elephanths, in the confineth of your own home, between the hourths of 3:55 and 4:00 PM, on the fourthh of July, of any year, during a hail-thtorm.

Things that make you go hmmm.

Nevermind the question about the feather weight chainmail...I discovered that Guard Leather and Leather are two different armors and now I have the Elite Plate.

I now have 5 little spiders and 2 automatons watching my back. I still cannot make a medical spider that works though.

I also found out that if you give the mage staff to Virgil and Dante, low and behold they start casting spells.

The healing jacket uses charges...like the WWE, get the F out.

I could still use some help with the other questions.

Ok, disregarding the first question (as per your request), here goes:

1. (removed)

2. My only suggestion would be to find a standard plate. It would make since if using larger components for armors produced larger armors, but when you are making a static item (a spider) you probably have to use standard.

3. If you mean that the spider is curled up in your inventory, and slowing you down, you have 2 options. 1) There is a patch you can search for on the net that apparently fixes all arachnid problems, or 2) You can do what I did and just grab the guy from inventory, click on the portal (window that goes back to the action window) and throw the spider (preferably away from NPCs). It should then open up and walk around, heal people, etc...

A. In Blackroot, there is a man who makes and sells poisons. He is located near the crossroad of the road that the blacksmith is on, and the road that the governor's mansion is on. You can get poison from him (maybe) by stealing it, or (definitely) you can do the following:

When running the Dernholm king's quest to collect the taxes, the governor of Blackroot will ask you to get back his dagger. Talk to the thieves in Blackroot. (way up in the upper center part of the map, slightly out of the town proper: your global map will flash, but ignore it). If you choose to help the thieves, and then choose the assasination quest, they will ask you to get poison from the poison guy (see above). When you go to him, you might need a point in persuasion, and convince him you have a "rat problem". Then head back to the thieves and either give the poison to him, obtain the dagger, and then steal the poison back, or just kill the thieves, take the dagger, and keep the poison.

Whew!...

B. Dwarven (anything) is simply an adjective of quality, not size. Size is always depicted by Large, Small, or (nothing) Anything else reflects its properties or quality.

C. Never used this guy, I wouldn't know. Perhaps his weapon is too heavy for him to effectively wield a shield too, and a lamp is not so bad?

D. Unfortunately, you can't in battle. Makes a good argument for the PC playing a mage, and picking up melee NPCs. They can't really mess up melee. Although, Virgil with his heal magics seems to do a good job. Although, there is a way to do it out of battle. Take to the character, and say "I'd like you to do something for me" then there should be a magic option. You COULD do this in battle, but it's inconvenient because you have to walk right up to the person you're talking to.

E. I never leveled him high enough. I would think he automatically repairs his own stuff, so just toss your stuff into his inventory, and see if that helps.

F. Never gotten it. If it says "increases HP recovery" or something like that then yes, you do need sleep because that is the only time when you usually recover HP

G. What the heck is Car Arcanum? I've heard this used many times, but I don't understand it. the Arcanum "I" play has a big ol' multiplayer button on the first screen! Can someone explain this to me?

H. I have Raven...but I hear she leaves you at the vortex...darn, she was in love with me too... I guess Magnus counts, since he stays after you find his lost clan. Other than that, I haven't played enough to know.

For future reference, you're less likely to get a response if you bog down your post with so many questions, so try splitting them up next time for better results.

For Death Magus

Car Arcanum is a mod made by a fellow who is a member here. I know...that really narrows it down...I think his screen name is "chrisbeddos". I don't have the link on this computer because I don't play off of this machine. Look to my other posts because he answered whether it can be played multiplayer and it cannot.

try this one: http://www.terra-arcanum.com/users/chris/
It was a link in the message from him to me.
