Hey I was wondering what other DM's use as props for there campains. I am planing on using several props. including:
1) Candles
2) Burnt and old looking maps
3) Two old Wine bottles for pop
4) A nice clay set with a pitcher (for pop)
5) Straw mat
6) Possibly fake gold peices.

Maybe also but some dramatic music in the background during a battle or important event (but not loud enough to distract the players). About the sound of loud whisper might be good.

I love to use props.
I've used candles, lava lamps (which is not working now), burned scrolls (you just burn part of the paper off, crumple it, and make it look like a scroll lost in a wreckage), a scroll container, a spider glass (bought this in a fantasy shop, haven't had the chance to use it), these small ale containers which are actually meant to be decorative, medieval/background music or self-created adventure tracks, gothic rings as magical rings, a katana (a friend has this), and some other stuff, including paper/metal miniatures.

We had a player who's character was very fond of his "Big Knife." Now before you get dirty, the big knife was a dagger. As a prop he had one of those old rulers with the metal strip at the top. No one was alowed to touch the "Big Knife." Once someone did touch it and the player beat him with the ruler until the metal edge came out.
