Jagi vs Canderous, the peaceful solution
Okay, so what's the trick? I keep trying to do it like the walk through here says, but he always wants to fight. What exactly am I supposed to do?

According to this site's walk through there (number 10 on the bottom) it is possible. Haven't found any mention of it by doing a search though, everyone seems to have just finished the fight.
Yeah, I tried the Force Persuade thing too, did exactly as you describe.

There is a peacefull solution, don't know if it rquires persuade (I have persuade usually around 16-20).
{Minor Spoiler, highlight}
The only lines that stands out for me as possibly critical is where you say that people die in wars and that what Canderous did was a smart smart move (that prevented the death of many soldiers).
Sorry, I can't run the game right now to check.

Okay, I FINALLY managed to convince Jagi to leave peacefully, and I only had a persuade of 10, so I don't know what happened there. But at least it's definitely possible... though if Darth_Gizka had a persuade of 14 and failed, I can't imagine what it's dependent on. Also, when I managed to persuade him, I didn't even get the usual [Success] at the beginning of his next line, which you usually get when you do a persuade or Force persuade on someone.

Jagi vs Canderous
Well, the 1800 experience you get for being successful was sure different. Also, you don't have to fight Jagi, which may make it just a hair easier, since he's such a pansy. Canderous gets "affected" by the outcome no matter what, so basically the only good of convincing Jagi not to fight is the 1800 experience, which you can easily get anywhere. If it does anything aside from that later on in the game, I don't know yet.

It should be in the walkthrough.
I did it a couple days ago and it worked just fine. The first chance you get, you have to tell them to calm down. Then, ask Canderous why he has to fight Jagi (it may work if you ask Jagi why he has to fight Canderous, I'm not sure). After that, there'll be some talk between them, and you have to tell Jagi that what Canderous did was a sound tactical move or how it saved lives, something like that. (P.S. I have terrible memory, so I don't remember exactly, even though I only did it a couple days ago, so this probably isn't exact; check the KotOR walkthrough and see if they tell you how to do it, and make sure your persuade is sufficiently high).
Speaking of a sufficient persuade, I *finally* managed to resolve the Sandral/Matale feud peacefully. Frankly, I don't think it was entirely worth it.

Jagi's the dark skinned guy you run into on Tatooine later in the game. Former Mandalorian that fought under Canderous and felt betrayed by Canderous due to the immediate effects one of Canderous' strategic battle decisions during the war.
Basically Canderous' decision won the battle but lost Jagi's fight.
He confronts you by the sand crawler and you have to settle it, somehow.
Yeah, I've got at least that and I'm wearing that goofy jaw bone thingy you get on Kashyyk (sp?) that is supposed to really increase your persuading abilities.
I don't mean to rant or anything, but it's called the Circle of Saresh and it actually adds +5 to Wisdom, which makes your Force Powers more difficult to resist, while Charisma is cruicial for Persuade.
Sorry, just had to nag. Forgive the spamming.
And, BTW,
is Jagi's suicide at the end of the conversation the only possible ending of the Light Side path?

You should do so well as to be sucked into the engine of some evil Sith Lord, you know.
