How to use weapon finesse

Does anyone know how to use weapon finesse? I have read you shift click on weapon, but for me that doesn't work. No matter what I try the weapon is still listed as using strength as a modifier. Is this feat broken?

What is your strength & dexterity stats? Are you using small baldes? I believe it only works with small blades.

weapon finesse only with small blades... and it only affects attack rolls...
you wont get any extra damage with that feat..

Weapon Finesse means that whenever you make an attack roll with a Small Blade (ie:dagger or short sword), instead of getting your Strength Modifier added to your attack roll you get your Dexterity Modifier added to it. As a skilled combatant wielding a small blade could use speed and agility over pure muscle to get through armour or to simply hit them.
Shift clicking a weapon changes the weapon's ability (melee or thrown for some weapons) or changes which ammo is being fired from it, should it be a ranged weapon.
As far as I can gather Weapon Finesse is automatic, you can't turn it on or off.
