What is the most effective order of things to get Jaheira romance off straight

What is the best sequence of things to get the Jaheira romance off on the right foot. I have throne of bhaal installed with the latest patch, which i don't know if they did any "fixxing" to the jaheira plots. I have done the Xzar thing and rescued his bird friend. I have met the slaver that cursed her and fought his pet mages to cure the curse. I have had several love talks with her. I took everyones advice and went to Umar hills after the Xzar thing and rested outdoors, but no bandits came. Right now I am at a save game that is right after teh Xzar and curse thing but I haven't left town yet. Any advice on where to go next? I have beat the game twice and still haven't seen the proper Jaheira romance, so don't worry about spoilers.

The best thing you could do for the Jaheira romance is find the Baldurdash website and download their fixes. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if they will work for a game you've started already. They absolutely work for new games.

For the Umar Hills, some of the romance variables require you to have a certain amount of "area" around the party with no other sprites, on screen. My advice is go toward the north-west corner of the map, below the stair-plateau leading to Valygar's cabin and then rest.

And according to Bioware, the requirements for continueing the Jaheira romance from SoA into ToB is not as strict as the other NPC's.

Try buying the locket from the merchant in front of the temple of Oghma in the docks destrict(Jeborah?).
If nothing works you can still use the console...

To Bishop:

If you want some great advice about the sequence of steps to take for Jaheira romance try looking up past posts by Manveru using the search button and the topic "Problems with Jaheira Romance." Just don't download any of those patches from that time if you have TOB installed as this may cause problems.
Offhand I would continue to complete more subquests if you have not already and let the lovetalks progress more before sleeping outdoors.

I really must say the Jaheira romance is frustrating as hell. I have played the game 2 1/2 times through and niether time did the jaheira romance work out right. This time, I started off as a male/human/mage and played through chapter 1. Got to chapter 2 and emediatly did the returnthesickmantothehaprpers plot. Then did jaheiracurse plot. I took everyones advice and went out of town to rest and *big suprise* nothing happened. I sure wish Bioware would get in on figuring this out. The whole forum is flooded with that romance.

I didn't sleep outside until after I freed the Keep. Then when I slept outside, it worked. Maybe its tied to freeing the Keep or there is a timer on it. So try waiting till you free the Keep before sleeping outside.

My problem is that now, I've had her ask me the same question 4 times in a row. "How did you feel during that last battle?" or some such. She always ends up with she needs to think about it some more. I think its stuck in a software loop.

here's a trick.

load up a save just before you go to hell in chapter 7 then go grab Jaheira if you havent already got her in yer party then set the variable "JAHEIRAROMANCE" to 1 and "JAHEIRAROMANCEACTIVE" to 2. then go kick irenicus' arse.

then you can have a romance with Jaheira in ToB!!
