What does this mean?
The explanation of the fighter's special ability, critial strike, says that "the attack roll made in the next round is a natural 20, a critical hit." Does that mean if I activate this ability, every attack I make in the next round will ALWAYS hit, plus it'll do double damage?
Thanks in advance for the reply.

Technically that's supposed to happen, but I haven't really tested it out yet. However take note that helmets protect against critical hits, so the damage won't be doubled unless the target is helmless (?). Why don't you toggle the 'to hit rolls' option in the feedback menu and see if 20s are rolled instead?

Yes, that's exactly what it does. Unless, of course, the target is wearing a helmet, in which case you won't do double damage but will still hit every time.

Vicsun, I certainly agree with your assertion that you are an unpleasant person. ~Chanak

WUAHAHAHAHAHAHA, THANKS! All I want to do is make sure my next attack will hit. Now I know it wiiiilllll, aaahahahaha....yessssss...
Anyhow, does anyone know if I dual from a cleric to a fighter, my weapon selection is still restricted to blunt weapons only? Also do you know where on the internet I can find a cleric/mage spell progressing table for each leveling of the character?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you will still be restricted to blunts - fortunately, that's not a big problem in BGII.
Cleric/mage multi is exactly that for cleric and mage separately....

I have given up all lesser evils as inadequate to my purpose.
crab, i'm guessing you're talking about the harm spell?
if you're going to use it, you don't have to dual to a fighter to get the THAC0 to make sure you hit, nor do you have to wait for so long to get the fighter HLAs. the best ways to improve your THAC0 as a cleric are the buff spells - holy power (for fighter THAC0), DUHM or righteous magic (for strength bonus), chant and bless (for to hit bonuses).
a cleric dualled to a fighter will be less effective than a normal fighter or a normal cleric. it won't have enough spells to be a proper cleric, nor will it have the HP to be a decent fighter (cleric HP is lower than fighter HP)
if you desperately want to use critical strike with harm, use a F/C or R/C multi.

fighter mage multi can attack with improved haste in timestop...
better than crit attack, since every attack for 3 rounds is GUARENTEED to hit...this is why aerie should attack with harm during timestop...
i personally think crit strike is about the worst fighter hla...stopped by helmets, and timestop is better...
even power attack is better. (same save penalty as symbol stun, and you can attack many times dual wielding while improved hasted...)
however, for archers, it rocks...combine with called shot and improved haste, and crit attack for major ranged hurt...

Hello,
Does anyone here know a webpage that has the cleric's spell progress table?
To Thrain:
All you've said is good, except I want an absolute hit, and I want my main character a fighter. A pure mage can get the same job done with Time Stop and Mind Flayer transformation, but I've played a mage before and I want to try something else. Besides, a cleric -> fighter can call Draw Upon Holy Might and the other spell (forgot the name) which gives maximum damage - makes you a better fighter than Kensai Also, I think I'll have more Critical Strikes and Harms than than the mage will have Time Stops, while most of the time I do hand-to-hand fighting, which is my favorite style.

Just take a look in your game directory (by default: C:\Program Files\Black Isle\BGII - SOA). You should have a file called "Baldur's Gate 2 Manual.pdf" - in the back of that is a whole bunch of tables including spell progression.
