My PC died and I lost my saves!
My PC died and I lost my saves!
I was fairly early on in the game, still exploring the hive, but had spent hours of gameplay to get there. Does anyone know of a site with saves available? Can anyone email me an early save game?
If you want I could send you some save games, but I will strongly advise you to restart the game instead. Playing with one of my saved games will most assuredly ressult in missing out importent content, valuable information and the like.
My email is in your inbox. Just add me to your Messenger if you still want them.

Importing saved games
I've been playing PST for a couple of weeks (at Clerk's Ward right now), but had to format my computer cause it was completely spammed...
I burned my quick, auto and 'normal' savegames to a cd meaning to import them after formatting, which I did...
The picture of my savegame does appear in the load/save screen, but when I attempt to load the following error occurs:
Runtime error
Program ***GAMEPATH HERE.exe***
Abnormal program termination
Game crashes and after starting again I get the following error:
Assertion:
An Assertion failed in F:\Torment\Source\baldur\InfGame.cpp at line number 2723
Crashes again...
(Can be fixed by clearing temp and cache folders, but THAT doesn't really help...)
Since you're fiddling with savedgames, can you help me out??
Thnx...

Hello, I am new here.
Your problem sounds similar to mine, although mine is not a result of spam. After frequent random crashes, Torment eventually reset my PC and deleted a Win system file in the process. Format ensued. Fortunately, my save (and everything else) was backed up on a USB drive.
I still experience these crashes. I am running the 2 CD version on WinXP SP2. The disks are second hand but seem to be in good condition. My system specs are dated (excellent 2 years ago). I might try the full install suggestion, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Sorry I can't help with the assertion error thing.

I could send you some early saves except for two things- first, the way I was developing The Nameless One is probably different from the way you were.
And second-last night when I was installing SP2 it decided to move XP to a different partition/drive-the one that had everything other than the OS and system files-and repartitioned my machine, wiping EVERYTHING.
Thank you Microsoft!
(actually this message is simply to say 'the same thing happened to me', but since it's still early in the game and with so much of it-at least early-revolving around role-playing, getting back to that same point shouldn't take too long or be much of a pain)
One last thing for Daff-the full install was working fine for the 2 CD version, and the more I've thought about it the more I think it should as long as the CD 3 and 4 lines are pointed in the right place.
