A different thread for the college year.

Sadly this year I have not watched any games, so I will start of with the game I'm watching now.. Miami vs. Florida St.

Defense seems to be the name of the game in the first half..(that and some critical mistakes on the part of Miami). The mess right before half time made me LMAO :D I admit to not liking Miami and used my evil powers to curse their kick. :D

Both sides on offense seem to either lack any power to move the ball, or the defence on both sides just make their offense seem none existing.

Half Time score, Miami 0 Florida 10 (all from turn overs from Miami)

Well, I don't know that much about college football, but this year Cal (or U.C. Berkeley if you don't know it, which is by the way the school I'm attending right now) did well on their first game: 56-14 against Air Force. Cal's running game exploded against Air Force, so hopefully they can repeat it again tomorrow against New Mexico State. Go BEARS!!!

Here is a link to the Cal ESPN locker room

Ranked #12 in the AP poll, I would say they have a good shot at going 4 and 0 until they meet USC (If Arrington and Lynch stay healthy. Lynch looks to be the rising star as well). I will leave my opinion of USC out..I do not want to curse Cal like I did FSU. :D

@HLD I'm at a lost for words on Rix.

My team, the bumbling stumbling Tide got 7 votes. :D

Here is a Slate article on Alabama (Bewarned sadly Alabama has some fans the team could do without..one being Paul Finebaum a Tiger in Elephant clothing, the others being the racist type.)

Marshall also got out-coached by Ohio State in a game they should have won.

4th down and a chip shot field goal? Fake field goal.

2 minutes to go and Bobby Pruett plays for overtime, only to punt to OSU and lost on a field goal with 2 seconds left.

My football weekend is not turning out well.

Man, the game against New Mexico State was incredible today. Attendance for the opening home game is the highest in Cal history. Our running game completely dominated the offense, and it's such an awesome experience for my first live football game. But Cal hasn't played a decent team yet, so I'm still holding my breath.

My random thoughts...(*Games I got to watch, #Games I missed)

*Miami (ranked 5th) <W> vs. FSU (ranked 6th) ..It seemed that FSU (a team built on having the second and third string almost as good as the first string  ) just ran out of gas in the final minutes. From thinking since the game, I believe it finally reached the point of the defence couldn't keep holding for a no show offence. Miami's QB didn't do much, but he did enough. FSU QB tried (blocking and jumping) but just could not catch a break. Bench Rix?? Hard to say, but another performance like that and I would say yes.

*Michigan (ranked 7th) vs. Notre Dame <W> ..The first three quarters were a slug fest, the last one a rout of Michigan. ND for real or do they just have Michigans number.

#Ohio State (ranked 9th) <W> vs. Marshall ..54 yard field goal :D Read HLD's ccomments to get the feel of this game.

#Georgia (ranked 3rd) <W> vs. South Carolina .. Look for LSU and Miami to move ahead of Georgia.

#Cal (ranked 12th) <W> vs. New Mexico State .. From reading the stats, both Arrington and Lynch had a great game. Arrington had 181 rushing yards, almost the same as Rogers in passing. Cals next visits...Southern Mississippi

#Southern Mississippi <W> vs. Nebraska ..LMAO :D Nebraska can now add another lost to their home stadium. I do like the Corn Huskers more than that Rocky Flop  bunch though..I would tie them with Miami on my list of least liked. :D

#Alabama <W> vs. Ole Miss .. Run baby run. :D The main thing on my mind when will Alabama implode. :( Not a question of if...when. :D
